The only good thing about this hotel is the design (interior and exterior). The rest is bad. I was very tired, I came to this hotel to have a one night rest. I entered the hotel, and there was no one there, including the receptionist. The stuff of a nearby cafe told me that here is self check in, so I should call the hotel staff using the number on the hotel business card. The business card was on the empty reception desk, I took the business card that was on the table at the reception and I called, but the number on the business card didn’t exist. Then I searched on Google for this hotel, and found another number, but this number didn’t answer. Then the stuff of the neighboring cafe found another number, called and checked in me. After all this Fort Boyard thing I went up to the top. I opened the door to my room and saw that the room is twice smaller than in photos. The room was as hot as a sauna. It was so hot, that I decided to take a shower. But it turned out that there was no water. To be clear, there was only hot water, but it was so thin that it was almost impossible to even wash my hands, and there was no cold water at all. Then Irakli from this hotel stuff wrote me on WhatsApp, I answered him that the conditions are terrible, and there is no water, he answered that this is normal for Plekhanovas old pipes, and this happens usually, and he hope that soon they will turn on water. After 10-30 minutes, they finally turned on water, but the water flows as dirty as the soil. Also the bathroom was clogged with long hair. This situation was going on for several hours. Finally, after a few hours, the water cleared. The view from the two tiny balconies is bricks and neighboring windows, the other view is someone else yard. Also there was no toothbrush and toothpaste. Unfortunately, all this are only half of the problems of this hotel. But I don’t have enough time, and my English is too average to write everything. One thing is clear, staying in this hotel was torture for me. P.S. I love Georgia. I have been in Georgia many times, for long time, and I have been in many hotels in Georgia, but Communal Plekhanovi was very special, in a bad way. Also I know that Georgians don't like to work, but specifically this hotel is the laziest in Georgia.

We had a good stay at Communal Plekhanovi Hotel. The rooms were decent sized albeit a bit dark and the value for money was great. The shower and bathroom was really nice and the bedding was clean. It's not 24/7 service hence it's more of a "communal" than a hotel. However, the reception is nice & friendly. It was next door to Weller (for breakfast) & Craft Wine Restaurant (which is amazing and should be visited 100%). The Weller breakfast is painfully slow - it takes 40mins to serve some simple bread and jam (by comparison Craft could serve a 3 course meal in the same time with their chef). There's a couple of bars nearby on the corner. It's also around 700-800m away from Fabrika and about the same again to the Corner Cafe which we liked. The location is ok, quite central, not too touristy, and can catch Bolt to get elsewhere. However, one thing I didn't like much was the dog shit and the collapsing balconies on this street. At first I thought it was an issue all over Tbilisi but after a few days I realised this street (Egnate Ninoshvili St) was probably the worst in Tbilisi for this out of all the streets I walked on in the city (and I walked a lot every day). I know there are stray dogs but there's stray dogs everywhere so this can't be the reason, perhaps standards are lower in this neighbourhood. I would still stay here again so it wasn't a deal breaker but I would like to see more community spirit and pride.

Stayed 3 nights here (rooms 14 and 4). Stylish hotel. Good bed and pillows. Nice bathroom. Minuses noted: during breakfast you can not basically tell to a cook directly, which way you prefer eggs to be cooked (scramble, shakshuka, etc), so you have to tell it to personell first, then they will pass your choice to the cook (even though he understands English). So it looks a bit strange and excessive. Every morning I tried to make a tea, but the heater was switched off, so I had to ask someone to bring me hot water. I don't understand the reason this heater stands there at all. Or maybe they trying to save some electricity - I don't know. Poor sound insulation of the room's door - you will hear everything that is happening outside in the hall. Air conditioner creates periodical annoying sound even if it completely switched off. Last day we planned to get up early to take a train to Batumi. Exactly the same night there was some party in one or several of the rooms, so all guests of the hotel had to listen up till 3.00 in the morning squeals, laughing, shouting and smashing of the doors. It seems these were more respected guests than all others, because personell did not pay any attention to the noise created and made no attempts to stop it and calm them down. Very disappointing.

I am writing this as my husbands two reviews, although not derogatory just honest, have been removed twice.||||I arrived at this hotel after staying 4 nights in the Old Town area. After taking a 15 minute taxi through run down areas I arrived at the hotel. When I finally got my bags through the door I found two guests and two employees in the reception area (which was literally the other side of the door). Now don’t get me wrong I wasn’t expecting the guests to help with the door but I would have liked some assistance from the hotel staff. Nope! Guy sat behind the desk continued to talk to the other guests and just plain ignored me until I managed to catch his eye where I was abruptly informed check in was 3pm (it was about 1.30pm). I had previously emailed the hotel on 3 separate occasions, twice requesting an early check in as I had to check out of my previous hotel at midday. I got no response to any of the emails. Not a good first impression at all.||||I was offered storage of my bags but chose to wait in the ‘bar/lounge’ area. No offer of a drink, menu or anything and at 2.30pm I was informed my room would be ready in 20 mins - whooopeee!||||Room was nicely decorated although looked out onto a brick wall and neighbours windows. Small balcony had one chair on it, two might of been more helpful! No storage for clothes apart from one rail in the wardrobe, no drawers or shelves.||||I spent the next two hours whilst waiting for my husband to arrive reading the trip advisor reviews on the hotel wondering if I was in the right place. All the reviews saying how lovely and accommodating the staff were, how people had early check ins and moved rooms if they weren’t happy with the one they were allocated (due to noise, brick walls etc). I know all this is subject to availability and travel enough not to be wet behind the ears but honestly I have never encountered such abruptness and rudeness in the hospitality industry (and we’ve travelled extensively in Russia!).||||When my husband arrived I let him view the room before going back down to reception to see if we could change rooms - NO! NO! NO! Why were we even stupid enough to ask?! After all this we decided we would only stay one night instead of the two we had booked.||||So all in all this was the worst hotel we have stayed in, not just in Georgia but internationally.||||If this review gets deleted like my husbands have then our faith in TripAdvisor will be severely damaged. We use TripAdvisor for all our trips and will share elsewhere if this turns out to be the case. The hotel should graciously accept our honest feedback and comments. Instead of reporting our reviews so they are deleted maybe work to improve the hotel and your manners so future guests aren’t disappointed...
