Disappointing Experience at Ibis Stadium Tbilisi
My recent stay at Ibis Stadium Tbilisi left much to be desired, earning it a disappointing two-star rating. As a three-star property, I had hoped for a comfortable and enjoyable experience, but unfortunately, the reality fell far short of expectations.
Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the lackluster appearance of the hotel. While I understand that Ibis is a budget-friendly chain, I was disappointed by the overall lack of upkeep and maintenance. The exterior of the building was in need of a fresh coat of paint, and the common areas felt tired and neglected.
The room itself was incredibly small and cramped, with barely enough space to move around comfortably. The furnishings were outdated and worn, giving the impression of a budget motel rather than a three-star hotel. Additionally, the cleanliness of the room left much to be desired, with visible dust and dirt in various areas.
One of the most disappointing aspects of my stay was the breakfast experience. The breakfast area was incredibly small, with limited seating available. This resulted in long wait times and a crowded, chaotic atmosphere. Furthermore, the food spread was extremely limited, with very few options available for vegetarians. As someone who follows a vegetarian diet, I was disappointed by the lack of choice and variety.
Beyond the breakfast debacle, the overall service at the hotel left much to be desired. The staff were polite but seemed overwhelmed and understaffed, resulting in slow service and long wait times for assistance. Additionally, the lack of amenities and facilities further detracted from the overall experience. For a three-star property, I expected at least basic amenities such as a fitness center or swimming pool, but unfortunately, these were absent.
In terms of suitability for families, I would not recommend Ibis Stadium Tbilisi. The small room size and lack of amenities make it unsuitable for families with children, who require more space and entertainment options. Additionally, the limited food options and chaotic breakfast experience would likely be frustrating for families traveling with picky eaters or dietary restrictions.
In conclusion, my stay at Ibis Stadium Tbilisi was a disappointing experience that fell short of expectations. From the poorly maintained facilities to the limited food options and lack of amenities, there were several areas in need of improvement. While I appreciate the budget-friendly nature of the hotel, I believe that even budget accommodations should meet certain standards of cleanliness and comfort. Overall, I would not recommend Ibis Stadium Tbilisi to fellow travelers and would advise seeking alternative accommodation options...
Read moreI recently stayed at Ibis Tbilisi Stadium for one night together with my colleague. As frequent business travelers, we chose this hotel trusting the Ibis brand quality that we know from other countries. Unfortunately, our experience this time was disappointing.
First of all, the hotel entrance signage is very confusing. The name “IBIS” should be clearly visible in Latin letters on the main road — it was extremely difficult for us, as foreign guests, to recognize the entrance since most visitors cannot read the Georgian alphabet.
Secondly, when we wanted to have a drink around midnight (around 12:00 a.m.), we were told the bar was closed. As a businesswoman who travels abroad at least 15 days every month, I have never experienced a hotel where you cannot even get a drink at that hour. It was quite surprising.
In the room, we found one very small water bottle — but it was empty. At the very least, basic needs like drinking water should be provided for guests who arrive tired after a long journey.
The breakfast was also very disappointing. We had to drink tea and coffee from paper cups, which is unacceptable for any hotel, especially one under the Ibis brand. Even the smallest local hotels provide porcelain cups and glasses. The breakfast area staff were chatting and joking among themselves, not paying attention to the guests at all. We had to look around ourselves to find cups, cutlery, and plates. When we asked for assistance, they just stared at us blankly as if we were asking something unusual.
Additionally, most of the staff were unfriendly and did not speak English properly. Only one receptionist and one waitress spoke some English. For an international hotel chain, this is a major issue. At least the service staff should have a basic level of English communication.
As a businesswoman working in international trade, I expected a much higher standard from Ibis. I visit Tbilisi regularly for client meetings, but unfortunately, after this experience, I will not stay at Ibis Tbilisi Stadium again.
The next day, I traveled to Batumi and stayed at Ibis Styles Batumi. The price difference between the two hotels was only 10 USD, yet the quality gap was unbelievable. Ibis Styles Batumi felt like a five-star hotel — everything from cleanliness to room equipment and service was excellent. As a sincere suggestion, I recommend that Ibis Tbilisi Stadium take Ibis Styles Batumi as an example and improve its standards to the level that truly represents...
