Homaris Boxi Studios — Hotel in Berlin

Nice size, clean, quiet room in good location for us. However the lack of any personnel on site or contactable, other than cleaning staff, who were unable to help, is a serious problem. The cleaning staff were lovely but not given any responsibility to act for customers. On line we made contact with an automated person who could not help us get a room cleaning freshen up. We were told we had to do this by the cleaners. A coffee machine that leaked and produced warm water is no substitute for a kettle. A newly arrived guest had not been sent a code and could only achieve access by waiting for someone else to do so, allowing him and his son into the building but not their room. Like us they had tried all the ways indicated for guests, without success. Three young female guests could not use their hotplate cooking stove and asked us for help at 9.55pm one evening. We tried to help them by turning on our own, without success. There were no instructions in either room. This lack of service on site is inexcusable for a 49 bed facility. We would have liked to have left our cases for a while having vacated our room but by then had no faith in our code being available for collection. Neither happy with the choice nor unhappy. But probably won’t choose it again if booking for more than 3. Excellent location. Good looking. Comfy. Good for two or three, cramped for four. We rented a room/studio for four, two beds, one sofa with folding bed and it was not as spectacular as the photos that led to the choice on Booking.com. The beds were fine and comfy but the sofa was super uncomfortable, specially for two people, you sleep all crooked and it’s easy to wake up feeling worse than when you fell asleep. If you have a light sleep (not my case but) you might want to sleep with earplugs because the corridor door has a soft closing that slams the door every time. The bathroom was fine. The heating was working perfectly. The kitchen is ok but couldn’t help but notice that the extractor is not connected to the outside, so if you want a place where you can cook keep in mind that here the smell won’t leave the place. I was not impressed with my stay at Box studio Berlin. The apartment I got was very different from the pictures on the website. It was not modern or newly renovated, but rather old and outdated. The furniture was shabby, the appliances were noisy, and the bathroom was small. The only positive thing about the apartment was that it was clean. The location was also convenient, close to public transportation and some attractions. However, that was not enough to make me happy with the accommodation. I felt deceived and disappointed by the false advertising of Box studio Berlin. I would not recommend this place to anyone who expects quality...
