Sadly- this is one of my favorite Berlin places. It’s very close to my flat. When I am in berlin a few mi the every year- I come here every week. Sometimes more than once a week. The food is very delicious- I love the Kao Soi and the ribs. It’s a tapas place.
Tonight they ruined all of that. I ordered four small things. It’s more than I can eat. But I wanted to taste them all and I knew I would love them for lunch tomorrow.
I asked the server to bring them all home. But when she took the small bowls- she put on bowl inside one of the veggie dish bowl. Like- wait! I’m bringing that home.
They brought me a bag- and it only had two of the four dishes and rice. I found out the rice was on top of the pork belly. Ok- but the veggies - (the one they put the bowl inside) was not there.
I asked - but where I my food?
The lead server came and gave me all these word excuses. They wanted €.50. Ok that’s not a lot but why? Why? Because you are taking food to go. Ok- food I’m paying for. Food you aren’t even giving me all of?
So confused. He couldn’t tell me why he couldn’t give me the food I paid for nor why he wanted me to pay and extra fee.
Eventually he just gave up. Gave me new veggies and all 4 small boxes. (Small! We’re not talking quart rice boxes. Much smaller)
I even said to him- I’m a good customer. I come all the time. I don’t understand.
So- now I’m sooo sad. I love this place. But they were so weird and mean about it. I don’t think I’ll go back again. 😫😫😫😫😫

Read moreFirst of all, the food was good. I would not say spectacular but very delicious. However, the waiting time and portion size really turnt me off. My friends and I waited nearly half an hour to make our orders. And then another 45 minutes or so for the food... We were so excited when the food came out, just to realize that the portion is fairly small 😢 Not to mention that, half of our food came first and then around 15 minutes later, the rest arrived ( with us reminding the waitress for a few times). The waiters/waitress were nice but their service system was not effective. There was one waitress serving the food, one waiter took the orders and the other collected the bills... The one collecting the bills most of the time just walked around while the waitress was working non-stop but still not fast enough to bring out the food right when it was ready, which created delays in their service...
All in all, I think it is the best to visit this restaurant when you have no time pressure, no budget and a lot of patience. Personally, I will not come here again as there are many good Asian ( even specifically Thai) restaurants in Berlin with equally good quality (or even better), lower price, bigger portion and way less...
Read moreHangmee was one of my favorite restaurants in BLN for many years. Until yesterday. We were a group of 4 and we ordered many small bowls to share. In one of them I found a dead fly. Big one and it looked completely frozen, which means it didn’t just fall from the sky in the moment. I went inside and I showed it to one of the employees and he said, I quote, “that’s not good” and he took the bowl. I went outside and ate the rest of my food with my friends. They brought me a new empty bowl and chopsticks. Not new dish that I gave them, a new empty bowl. At the end, when it was time to pay, the waitress said she wont charge me one bowls of rice (2€) cuz I found a dead fly in my food??? I asked if she’s serious? She looked at me shocked and said ok, she won’t charge for the dish where the fly was. I don’t know about others, but if I would be the owner or employee at that restaurant, I’d apologise like 10 times and definitely not charge for a part or maybe the whole meal. But this girl offering me a free bowl of rice was insulting tbh. And yeah, dead flies in the food are...
