Do not stay here!!!! It is disgusting!!! I had the misfortune of staying here earlier this year. It does not look like they ever clean the rooms. They kept putting out the exact left-over food from the day before even though I saw mold on the food. There wasn't anyone at the front desk or at the hotel when I arrived. The placed was locked at it was still daylight when I arrived. There were cleaning supplies and what I assume were dirty sheets left in the hallway. Not a single light on in the place. No one to request help from. Many doors left unsecure, and the hallways smelt like smoke. The room they gave me was so gross. Truly they do not know what a vacuum is as the red carpet had a white tint and layer of dead human skin all over it. I don't go looking for stuff like this. It was overly apparent that they didn't clean as soon as I walked in the room. They never dusted. The room smelt like smoke. There wasn't a smoke detector in the room as someone took it out at some point. The bathroom wasn't clean. They never clean the upholstery as the oil stains and dead human skin sticks on the surfaces. I could not ask to change rooms the first couple days since there wasn't staff at the hotel and they didn't provide a point of contact. Customer Service was not great. They were bothered when I voiced a concern the last day or so I was there. The staff in the breakfast area couldn't be asked and begrudgingly provided service. That said there was one decent lady working at the hotel, but that is it. Really don't know what people see in this place besides the location. Remove the blinders folks and stay elsewhere. This place isn't cleaning up anytime soon. Or don't heed the warning and add your dead skin to their collection and venture on back later to see your dead skin cells still there. GROSS. STAY AWAY.

This restaurant is so good, it's hard to rate. We started with the salad bar, which really isn't even a salad bar, it's more if a antipasto bar, complete with grilled eggplant, grilled yellow and red bell peppers, sun dried tomatoes, and reduced balsamic vinegar. Next, because we were here during asparagus season (May 30th) there was a special asparagus menu, and I had the creamed asparagus soup, which was like silky magic with chives. There were 4 of us, 2 of us had schnitzel with mushrooms and brown gravy, one had steak medallions, and one had the asparagus, cheese, and ham dinner. All of the meals were splendedly prepared, seasoned, and hot, and perfectly cooked. My only regret is that we're only in town for one day, because I would go out of my way to come here again. Oh, yeah, did I mention that the restaurant is nestled into the side of a mountain directly beneath a 10th century castle? This is truly a fairy tale dining experience. If the weather permits, sit outside. Prost.

I was shocked and very pleasantly surprised when we first arrived because the reviews had been mediocre. We arrived at night and were easily able to use the keybox to contact the front desk and get our room key. The rooms are nice, clean, and have plenty of space for two. It’s not a luxury 5-Star hotel, but it doesn’t try to be, it’s a nice hotel for couples and families. The little balconies for each room were an excellent touch. The breakfast looked average at first, but it tasted great and everything from the eggs to the pastries were fresh. The dining room was nice and calm with excellent music. The service was great. The only two minor points I have to go from good to great are: - the pillows are very very soft and need to be folded a few times to provide support for the head. - there are no vending machines for late-night snacks (unless I missed them). Enjoyed our stay and will come here again.

We stayed in this hotel for a week back in January while on a business trip. It was recommended by a coworker who had previously stayed here. This was my first experience with a pure European hotel instead of a hotel designed for US travelers.||||My first impression of this place was that it was very isolated. Reaching this place require looking for a small entrance (fits only 1 car) located between 2 buildings on a narrow curved street. We missed it the first few times but eventually found it. After going through the entrance, we drive up a dark hill on a windy road, taking care of any pedestrians and other cars that could be driving downhill. Eventually, we came upon the hotel building and I found it to be quite quaint, almost like a scene from a movie.||||The checkin time was strict and we were early so we waited around for the checkin time. The keys to our rooms were traditional metal door keys rather than the plastic cards commonly used in other hotels. The beds and pillows were quite different than what I was used to but I was still able to sleep well. There's no AC but the balcony door can be opened to let air in while keeping potential intruders out.||||We ate dinner at the restaurant here several times. The prices were reasonable and the service was good. Plus, it's also incredibly convenient. Events are held here as we visited a small wedding reception and also a business meeting. At least we think it's a business meeting as the crowded later carried torches while going up the hill to the nearby castle.||||The breakfast was good but the times for the egg boiler are not accurate as the water is merely hot and not boiling. Overall, I...

The hotel itself is located in a beautiful surrounding, and we received a warm welcome. While it may be a little dated it was clean and had some charm. My first disappoinment was in the spa area, where only one sauna and steam room was in operation, the other sauna was off, and the plunge pool was also out of service. I had booked this particular hotel because of the nice looking spa, something my partner and I truly enjoy. When I brought this to the attention of the manager I was met with complete indifference, and told that this was normal to not have all of the spa facilities open.... But at the same time I also expressed my disappointment with the room we were given (overlooking the staff court yard) where on the first day we were woken by some builders putting up scaffolding, and the second by a member of the staff cutting their nails right outside our window at about 8am. I would understand that we would be given this room if the hotel had been full, but it was clearly at about 30-40% occupancy. The complete indifference by the manager when I raised this with him was quite shocking, no apology, no explanation as to why we would have been given such a bad room, and worst of all I had booked this hotel for my partners birthday and had mentioned this at the time of booking. Overall we did enjoy ourselves here, but still left disappointed by the lack of professionalism from the manager/owner. The breakfast...
