Disclaimer: I only dined, didn't use lodging side of the property.
The restaurant was excellent! I was greeted when I came in, there were plenty of tables, both inside and outside, and no reservation was necessary.
Staff were very attentive, spoke English, and seemed interested in my being well served!
Food was phenomenal! Although that had a daily specials menu, I ordered the pork loin with mushroom sauce, mixed vegetables, and buckwheat spatzle. I did however order a soup off of the daily menu (tomato cream), which proved to be most excellent.
Prices were what you would expect for eating at a restaurant located at a hotel, but for all of the above, 2 glasses of German red wine, and a bottle of sparkling water, my total was around €33 ($36.70 at the time of this posting).
Parking was a bit confusing as the hotel had around 4 parking spots immediately as you pull into the property, but more parking was available, if not made clear by the proprietors. However, the spots at the main entrance, along with the additional parking elsewhere on the property was plenty for this mid summer season.
The location seems a bit off the beaten path, but don't let...
Read moreWe stayed here for a week during our rotation out of Germany. We were familiar with the great on-site restaurant and saw the good hotel reviews, so we were happy to spend our remaining days in comfort. There are lots of good restaurants in Landstuhl to walk to as well. The hotel parking is a little tight and the front door (there are 12 rooms inside) is often locked during the day, so they buzz you in. The staff is very friendly and the checkin was smooth. Our room was a standard size, with a large bed, individual comforters, lots of shelving space, ample closets, and a very nice bathroom. The decor is modern (versus a German-rustic you might otherwise see) and the crown moulding is a nice touch. There is a heavy shade to keep out the light and plenty of wall plugs for charging up. Since we had some household goods at home, we brought in our own fan (gets hot and muggy in DE) and an alarm clock for the bedside that were not offered in general. The breakfast provided was excellent - lots of fresh, local items to taste with different breads and eggs and bacon could be cooked to order. Homemade jams and fresh fruit salads were all...
Read moreI had previously dined at the Oelmuehle restaurant, but I was curious as to how cozy this hotel was. Luckily, I had another business trip up to Landstuhl so I can sleep and dine here for once. I will start off by saying that I think the restaurant is awesome in every respect. Not only are the dinner meals delicious, but I must say that the breakfast meal met my expectations. I love eating dinner here so much that I convince three other colleagues to dine here with me on our last evening. See the photos below for just how good the dinners are. As for the hotel, I was just a tad bit disappointed. My room was very large with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was big and was completely separated from the sleeping area. My only complaint is that the curtains and blinds did not shut out the light so I woke up earlier than I needed to each morning. In a country like Germany that excels in the world of blinds, I think that investing a little of money into rolladens would make a difference of night and day...literally. All in all, I will definitely come back here to dine, but I may opt to sleep elsewhere...unless I am...
