At first the reservation didn't come through correctly. We made reservations for a junior suite instead of a comfort double room. They wanted to give us a small room up in the attic. When we told the dutch receptionist, she made some changes and gave us the correct room. The room was great, large the only thing missing was air-conditioning and with 30 degrees + temperatures we missed that a lot.

The swimming pool was fantastic and the complimentary breakfast was very good. Lots of fresh and healthy food available. But also the eggs, made to order, english breakfast sausages and a wide variation of breads. The BBQ on wednesday was a big success, for EUR 27,50 you can eat unlimited good quality food.

Downtown Winterberg was reached within 10 minutes and it was great sitting in the local restaurants and cafes to sit and drink and grab some food.

We booked a last minute holiday in Avital apartments as hotel rooms were sold out. Reception was very welcoming and friendly, very fast and straight forward, perfect english spoken. |Apartments were located as said, 200 mt up a little hill, short walk! Apartments were super clean and modern. We had everything we needed, we didnt cook but I bet if we had we would have found everything there. We paid breakfast in hotel and walked every morning to the hotel building. Nice way to start the day with the fresh breeze down the hill. Breakfast was good, fresh fruits, many kind of deli meats and cheese, breads. Fresh egg counter and you can even squeeze your orange juice. |Wellness are was nice and peaceful, you could have water there and even fresh apples!. I only tried the pool, with good temps but didnt try the sauna but it looked nice. We have already booked for next year and this time hotel room!....

We've visited a few times and we always stay in the apartments. They seem newly renovated, they are cozy and clean. Location is also top - close to the city center where there are plenty of restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, pharmacies and other shops. Something I found really good is that there are stores working on Sundays and that is not typical for Germany (we live here). Hiking routs are also around the corner to explore. For those travelling with kids, there is a playground 200 m away and a couple of others also on a walking distance.||The SPA is also very nice and I can only recommend the services.||We even got Easter eggs and bunnies on Easter morning :) It is probably worth saying that we visit outside of the winter season and we don't ski thus "close to the ski area" is not a decisive factor.||I am already looking forward to...
