I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn during my visit to Accra, Ghana. From the moment I stepped foot into the lobby, I was greeted with warm smiles and exceptional hospitality that continued throughout my entire stay. Without a doubt, this hotel has set the bar incredibly high for luxury accommodations.
The attention to detail is truly remarkable. Every aspect of the hotel, from its stunning architecture to the tastefully decorated interiors, exudes elegance and sophistication. The blend of contemporary design with subtle nods to local culture creates an atmosphere that is both inviting and enchanting.
My room was an absolute haven of comfort. The plush bedding, coupled with the panoramic views of the city skyline, made it difficult to leave the room each morning. The attention given to cleanliness and maintenance was exemplary, ensuring a pristine and relaxing environment throughout my stay.
One of the highlights of my experience was the exceptional service provided by the hotel staff. From the knowledgeable concierge who offered valuable local insights to the attentive housekeeping staff who ensured my room was always immaculate, every member of the team went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable.
Dining at Holiday Inn was a culinary journey in itself. The diverse range of restaurants and bars within the hotel offered a multitude of options, each presenting delectable dishes crafted by talented chefs. The blend of international cuisine and local flavors tantalized my taste buds, leaving me craving more with each meal.
Additionally, the hotel's amenities were second to none. The state-of-the-art fitness center provided a comprehensive array of equipment, allowing me to maintain my workout routine. The luxurious spa offered a tranquil escape, where I indulged in rejuvenating treatments that left me feeling completely pampered.
The location of the Holiday Inn was ideal, situated in the heart of the city with convenient access to major attractions, shopping districts, and vibrant nightlife. Whether I wanted to explore the cultural landmarks or simply soak in the energy of the city, everything was within easy reach.
In conclusion, my stay at Holiday Inn was an exquisite experience that exceeded all expectations. The combination of opulence, impeccable service, and attention to detail truly sets this hotel apart. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, I wholeheartedly recommend Holiday Inn for a remarkable stay that will leave you with memories to treasure for a lifetime.

Read moreI stayed there die it’s close proximity to the airport. Moreover, shuttle service to the hotel is offered for free. The room had an odd smell. It smelled like a pool house. After the cleaning service the next day the smell was even worse - too much chemical cleaners were used. I already had a cough but the smell triggered the coughing even more. It was extremely cold in the room (as well as in the whole hotel). I guess between 16-18C. Not only is that bad for people’s health but also a waste of resources. Since I was feeling already unwell (due to the cold I had) I tried to get a better from temperature, around 22C. However, this didn’t work. I called the reception they said they would send somebody. After 2 hours I went down to the reception and asked. People at the reception are doing their job, but not trying to do a good job. They are not friendly or attentive. Actually, they were the first more or less unfriendly Ghanaians I have met in over 2 month here! Finally, ahandymsn came to check the AC. He told me that it can only cool down and no matter which temperature you chooses (even 26C) it will not heat the room. Since it’s apparently not working the way it should And it only blows cool air into the room. In the end I was forced to open the window to get some warm air in. I was cold during my two night stay and my coughing got worse! The mattress was too dirty for me and I didn’t sleep well. The view (I was overlooking the pool) wasn’t too good since nearly all the buildings you see are in construction. It’s not permitted to open the window. I had to open it anyhow due to the smell and the cold. The toilet tank had an issue too. Water kept running all the time. There was only one towel in the bathroom. I think $ 180/night is a rip off for this old hotel. It’s good days have passed a long time ago. It lacks atmosphere and comfort and I wouldn’t stay there again (not...
Read moreI stayed at the Holiday Inn Accra Airport recently for probably the tenth time in the last few years. Unfortunately, the property continues to fail to live up to its potential due to small oversights and failures that contribute to an overall negative experience.
Some positives :
Excellent airport shuttle service and waiting lounge. Great location near the airport and within walking distance to nearby Marina Mall Welcome amenity of fruit plate provided as a Priority Club Elite member Good sized rooms with comfortable amenities Complimentary wifi at a decent speed for Africa Complimentary buffet breakfast with a good spread of food
Some negatives :
Housekeeping staff forgot to replace clean towels on consecutive days, leaving no towels at all in the bathroom. Bathroom amenities (soap, shampoo, etc..) were not replaced throughout the entire stay. Instead the half-empty bottles were closed and put back in the rack. No pen or writing pad by the telephone - just the cardboard stub of what had once been a writing pad but was now exhausted. Air conditioning system that failed in the "on" position one night resulting in room temperature falling to around 18C. Housekeeping did not answer the telephone for over an hour to permit reporting the fault. Service staff at the bar who tried desperately to upsell on the lunch buffet rather than the a-la-carte menu ("Oh, the food at the buffet is much better", "Oh, I can't guarantee that we can make what you order properly", etc..) and were very surly afterwards when we insisted that we did not want the buffet Live music by the poolside performed by people who can't sing to save their lives
Overall, one expects higher standards from a Holiday Inn branded property, although the problems are not so bad as to deter me from staying here again. This still remains among the better hotels in Accra, and its not-insignificant price...
