Accra Marriott Hotel — Hotel in Accra

I have traveled a bit to many different countries and stayed at luxury resort and hotels that had good amenities and overall decent experiences. However, the Accra Marriott was hands down THE BEST guest experience I have had in my travels. I came to Accra to celebrate my 47th birthday, and when I say the staff at the Accra Marriott superseded expectations, that is an understatement! Felicity at the front desk was the first person I met upon arrival and she was one of the sweetest, gracious, and attentive people I could have asked for. She was informative and absolutely accommodating as I arrived quite early (8 am) due to an early flight. She worked effortlessly to turn a room around in an already full hotel. Felicity lead me to the executive lounge to relax while the room was being prepared. Here is where I met Princess and Gideon. They were so attentive and ensured I had my lifeline (coffee) to start my first day in Accra the right way! They ensured I wanted for nothing! As I enjoyed a light breakfast, Felicity stayed in constant communication keeping me updated on the room status. Check in was completed and my day began. Upon returning to the hotel, I had the pleasure of meeting Lily (Customer Relations Manager) who had the sweetest spirit. From that moment on, Lily went ABOVE and BEYOND to ensure my stay was a memorable one! She continuously checked in, provided recommendations on what to see and do, but also simply gave a warm welcome my entire stay. Between Lily and Peniel (front desk), they surprised me with a HUGE celebration on my birthday. Bring out the Executive Leadership Team to sing happy birthday in the lobby, presenting me with balloons and 5 star treatment the entire day! I have never felt more special on my day! Andrew (Quality General Manager) was so gracious and continued to connect with me ensuring the Marriott standard was consistent being met. My 4th floor room attendant Boakye never allowed me to want for a thing! I always had everything I needed in my room, and constantly checked in with a kind word or unwavering attentiveness making my room as clean and comfortable as possible. Additionally, he went above all expectations decorating my room on my birthday (surprisingly) making me feel like a queen!!! By no means am I a high maintenance or important guest, however the entire Accra Marriott staff made me feel like a VIP guest the entire 7 days of my stay. Mercy and Karen (leadership team) were the sweetest people, and genuinely kind as we chatted each time we saw one another in the lobby. Sampson and Nathaniel (bellmen) continuously checked on my coming and going’s not allowing me to carry bags or bundles of items. These things were absolutely done out of kindness not looking for anything in return or “because it was their jobs”. This was the STANDARD of the hotel. I was overwhelmed with gratitude because the staff did not have to go all out the way they did, making this stay one I will NEVER forget. I intend to return to Accra within the next year to conduct business and the ONLY place I will ever stay is the Accra Marriott. You cannot beat the level of service here as the staff sets THE STANDARD! Much love and gratitude to all of the people I encountered here and they made everything here exceptional! I recently stayed at the Accra Marriott Hotel, and it was a refreshing experience. Located conveniently on Liberation Road, the hotel offers a perfect balance of comfort and luxury, making it an excellent choice for both business travelers and tourists.

Rooms: The rooms are spacious, modern, and well-decorated. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. I appreciated the attention to detail with amenities such as a mini-fridge, coffee maker, and large flat-screen TV. The bathroom was particularly noteworthy—spotless and stocked with high-quality toiletries. Service: The staff were friendly and attentive throughout my stay. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and the concierge was exceptionally helpful with dining recommendations and local attractions.

Amenities: The hotel features a beautiful outdoor pool area which is perfect for relaxation. The fitness center was well-equipped and clean. I also enjoyed dining at the on-site restaurant. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of options, from local dishes to international favorites.

Location: The location is quite central, making it easy to explore Accra. It's close to several attractions like the Independence Arch , as well as shopping areas and local markets.

Overall Experience: While the stay was mostly pleasant, I did find the Wi-Fi to be a bit not good at times, which was inconvenient for my work needs. However, that small issue didn’t overshadow the overall experience.
