We booked a 4 night stay at the Begleri through booking.com. The evening before we were due to arrive we received a message from the hotel advising they had overbooked for the first night of our stay. However, the owner sorted us out alternative accommodation staying in a apartment complete with washing machine in the centre of town only a short walk away. The apartment was lovely, it was just a bit of a pain having to pack up our stuff the following day. When we checked in at the Begleri we were offered a choice of two rooms, a smaller upstairs room with a view of the sea or a ground floor studio with patio area and nice open view of the countryside. We chose the studio as there was a lot more space – it slept up to 4 and had a lovely shower with shower cubicle. There was a fridge, kettle and hob with cups and saucers which was a bonus. There was a dressing table with stool and mirror plus plug socket and plug sockets next to both beds. There was a mosquito net over the bed – the first time I’ve had one in Greece. We always take a plug in so didn’t use it The hotel is in a quiet location but only a short walk away from the main street in Antiparos. I would definitely consider staying here again if I returned...
Read moreWe stayed for 12 nights and we were both very happy with the service. Twin rooms were fairly compact but were clean and tidy. ||When booking, best to ask for a room with seaview if possible; our first two nights we were in one of the twin rooms overlooking the neighbouring hotel. Not a major issue, but it was much nicer being able to sit on our balcony in the mornings for the next 10 days and look out to the sea in the near distance.||The hotel is not in the town itself, but you are less than a 5-minute walk from town. So it is located in a quieter part but still central which was great.||Olympia and her sister Clara run the hotel and both were brilliant. Always friendly, helpful and smiling. On our last day, Olympia drove us down to the port and that was a huge help, saving us the cost of a taxi (although this wouldn't have cost much to be fair).||Clara's husband owns the Nisilios Cafe in town. I have reviewed this cafe separately but just wanted to give it another mention, as would highly recommend it. Great pizza and coffee, plus the fruit salad and yoghurt is one of the best on the island :)||So overall a big thumbs up from me and my husband. We would...
Read moreThe location is great! Just a couple of minutes walking distance to the center of antiparos town. The room was clean and the cleaning lady was doing an excellent job, although she needed many hours to clean the entire building, so one day we missed the opportunity to have a clean room because at the time she was available for us, we were taking an afternoon nap. The building is clean but is poorly maintained. Decent outside but very old inside. It has all kinds of tear and wear issues that the owners seem to ignore. The owners seem to care more about maximizing their profits, by adding an enormous amount of beds everywhere and minimizing their operational costs, rather than providing a pleasing vacation room for you. Not really a hotel, by any means. More like an unrealistically expensive...
