Priamos Hotel Erato — Hotel in Athens

This was everything we expected it to be, and a little worse. Don’t get me wrong, we had a good time, we went in fully wanting and expecting a very seedy hotel vibe and that’s exactly what we got. But we expected the rooms to at least smell a bit nicer, and there was so much dust in some places, especially the vent inside the bathroom. We couldn’t even close the bathroom window because the handle was broken. Also out of 8 light bulbs in the central light of the room, only one was functional. One out of eight. And the food… oh dear… When they say “free breakfast” don’t go in expecting anything decent, just some pre-packaged things and cheap juice. The AC was broken, it made some sort of awful noise every time the poor thing tried to work, I felt sorry for its struggle.

All in all, we did enjoy our stay, and the soundproofing was pretty good (not flawless though, we still heard other people). If the room had been half the price of what we paid then I’d give it more stars, but I think it’s terribly overpriced for what...

Excellent hotel. Highly recommend for any couples who want to relax in a cozy place. There's very nice air conditioning, wonderful staff, and the room was very good, with an excellent breakfast every single day.

We have requested prior to booking that the room be deep cleaned, as the hotel allows smoking at the rooms. They've done an excellent job and we have not noticed any foul smell. Our room was honestly more than what we wanted, and it was excellent.

The view of the city from our floor was also very nice, and we enjoyed the landscape.

Only gripe I have is that not all the staff understand English to the fullest extent, which can lead to some awkward interactions and miscommunications. While not a big deal for the most part, try speaking clearly and with separated words for the best experience (in English).

Location is excellent and a 6 minute walk from the metro station. Only issue I personally had is that in Athens pedestrians are not the priority, so exercise caution crossing the road...

We choose this hotel because of the original decor and location. Unfortunately the smell of the room was not that pleasant. Our only issue was the room next to us, they tried to kick out our door around 2AM, make sure to stay safe. We were happy that we only booked one night. Definitely a unique experience, but I will give a poor number of stars, because they try to "bribe" people to give the highest score in reviews in hopes of getting a free stay in this hotel.
