We stayed here in 2014 when it was named Alexandros and I still remember the horrible rooms, smells and atmosphere like it was yesterday. The reception looked really nice, but they gave us a room at the basement with vegetation view, not sea view like we booked and paid. The room was small, smelly, with a bathroom for dwarfs, the liquid soap had a lot of water in it. Everytime a neighbour used the water, it was like all the plumbing would crush, very noisy and creepy. I guess the walls were made from plasterboard because we could here every noise our neighbours were doing. After we talked with the receptionist in the middle of the night (he was a nice guy) they gave us a room at the first floor, a little better than the first, but still old, tired, the plumbing was the same, with a thousand of mosquitos in it and a dead cockroach hanging from a light bulb. And who paints the ceiling dark red? After this horrible half of night, we talked again with the receptionist and we finally received a nice room at the 2nd floor. A nice, clean, modern, 2014 room, not 1980... The problem with the rooms may not have been so big if the next day when we talked to a lady, I guess she was the boss, she would have been nice and polite... she was bossy, arogant, superior and she treated us like garbage. We left one day earlier! It is such a shame that a nice hotel with good position, parking, pool, private beach has such a terrible management. This month we were in Lefkada again and we stayed in Ligia at Christina Studios and Avra Hotel and, at about same prices like Alexandros in 2014, we were amazed by the hospitality, cleaning, breakfast and overall conditions! Lovely...
Read moreStayed in this hotel in the begining of september. Due to our early morning arrival and late check-out hour, we had to go first around or to the beach while expecting for our room to be prepared until 12.30pm. Finally we got the room - big, clean. Big terrace with sea view - i really recommend to book in advance the superior + sv room. Other rooms we saw weren't that nice. On the other hand I have to say that I didn't like the small and narrow bathtub, a little too firm matress and only greek channels on TV (had some rainy days, othervise TV not needed). ||Personel nice and friendly. ||Food was good, nothing special. I'd recommend to have more traditional greek dishes instead of let's say asian food.. For my taste was not enough fresh fruits (just watermelon or tastless peaches) and vegetables. Quality of drinks and food must improve in the future.||Lovely pool area, nice beach with sunbeds and trees.||Bus stop is an2 min walk away - you have to look for the green booth. Market near the hotel but if you need cigaretts you have to walk around 800m toward Nikiana's centre. Bus scedule is a bit confusing, arrivals to the hotel's station +/- 10min. I strongly recommend to rent a car - specially because all the best beaches are on the other side of the island and the towns of Nidri and Lefkada are...
Read moreThe hotel is comfortable, clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Our room and balcony on the third floor was spacious with scenic views across the bay to mainland Greece. The room was serviced daily with fresh linen and clean towels. The air-con works well. There is direct access to a narrow pebble beach with grassy areas and shade under trees. The small cove shelves gradually and has a sandy bottom. It's sheltered and excellent for swimming. The hotel pool is a good size and has shaded tables adjacent to the bar which can be a good alternative to the beach when it's busy or hot. They served tea and cake by the pool at four o'clock which was great.||The restaurant interior is more like a canteen but outdoor dining overlooking the pool is pleasant. Food is plain and simple. Rather unimaginative but quite adequate. There are several tavernas nearby if you fancy something different. The hotel is on a busy main road but the rear / pool area are sheltered from traffic noise. It's not the best hotel in the world but it's perfectly adequate and better than some others in the area. We enjoyed our two weeks there and had no reason...
