Meteora Hotel at Kastraki — Hotel in Meteora Municipality

As you walk in, there is no porter facility which means you have to carry all your belongings yourself while they ask you to pay the remaining balance you have straight away.

The rooms were just ok size-wise but the beds were horrible. The mattress was only 5cm thick and my kid (almost 4 years old) slept on a camp bed which was totally uncomfortable. There was an intense smell of the bathroom and as if someone was smoking there before us. Although we are a 4 member family (a 2 year old kid and a 4 year old kid) they were constantly giving us a set of 3 towels, which made me use the same towel for both of the babies…

As for the bar facility, it took ages to prepare two toasted breads while one of the night we were there, there was nobody at the bar since the lady got sick.. (shouldnt they have someone to replace her? There were people who were hungry…)

Lastly, the breakfast was nothing to remind of a 4 star hotel, as there was no variety and the omelette and the cheese pie etc was very low quality and all was defrosted and just put in the oven…. (We only ate a boiling egg…)

I would not recommend it and definitely not going back there again.

Only thing that was great was the view, which i am pretty sure one can have it in any other...

We booked this hotel due to the excellent view and good price for a family room (4 persons) for 1 night. The view is indeed excellent and the hotel was very clean. The Wi-Fi, however, did not work in room or pool area. Signal was acceptable only in reception area. Room had nice view but best view is from pool area. Room had plenty of plugs as well to charge your electronic gadgets/mobiles.

Due to the excellent view and reasonable menu prices we decided to eat in at the restaurant of the hotel. Indeed, when we asked the reception for good restaurants they highly recommended the hotel one. WHAT A DISAPOINTMENT. We were joined by another family of 4 and we ordered 6 different dishes. ALL dishes were very poor in taste and of very little quantity. In fact the fish was not cooked enough and the oven lamb had blood. When we complained the waiter told us that he will tell it to the chef!! The next day, on check out, we complained again at the reception. Instead of apologising they were trying to make excuses. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I honestly don't remember having worst food.

I would recommend the hotel but AVOID hotel restaurant...

Very nice hotel with amazing view to the rocks from the restaurant and the swimming pool. We stayed in a quadruple room, but the 4th bed was extremely hard. We were pleasantly surprised that the restaurant offers also cooked food, which is not obvious and explains the low attendance because on the menu to be scanned on the tables you see only hamburgers and pizzas. Maybe the menu could be published on the website so that clients can see the variety. Regarding the food, everything was excellent, except the stuffed vegetables. The rice was almost row but the waitress said it was supposed to be "crunchy". I doubt anybody would like risking to break a tooth and I would have chosen a different meal if I had been warned. I was disappointed by her reaction. It would have been more appropriate to take it back to the kitchen for cooking until suitable to eat or to offer another meal as replacement.
