I arrived here later in the evening after a day of exploring the monestaries of meteora. It was about a 15 minute walk from where me and my companion were staying, but had the best reviews so we decided it would be worth the walk. On the way there it started to rain lightly and then cut out, but not for long! After we had ordered, it began to rain AGAIN, but this time very hard. Even so, I have to admit that I did not mind being trapped there. The staff was very accommodating and the portions were of a good size for the price. We had lamb chops and an amazing home style chicken soup. The lamb chops were a little on the dry side. Since it wouldn't stop raining, we ordered souvlaki from the grill and it was very juicy and they gave us a lot of it. This brings me to the best part. If you want cheap drinks, this is the place! We were given half a liter of rose wine for 3 euros and it was actually good! I tried a traditional Greek licorice liquor called tispouro for another three, also very good and almost enough for 4 shots. In the end, we were very surprised to be given a complimentary dessert of fresh green grapes which were seedless and just sweet enough. They accept credit cards, as not all restaurants in the area do. The food here was great, but if you really want to find some cheap drinks and dine in a covered outside venue by a fire as it roasts souvlaki to perfection, this...
Read moreStefano’s gave us some of the best customer service we have ever received anywhere in the world. Our rental car broke down outside of the restaurant, and the owner allowed us to settle and get the issue resolved before they even opened for dinner service. This family owned restaurant served us a delicious dinner (in the midst of a very stressful time) and made us feel welcome and cared for. Stefano’s himself even drove us to the store to get the parts we needed to repair the car. If you’re ever visiting Meteora, this is the place to go for authentic Greek food, a great atmosphere, and genuinely...
Read moreThe food was tasty and fresh, but the portion of lamb chops was much less. We ordered half a kilo and it was at best 300gr... Also the cook was very rude and in the end tried to convince us that he even added more than half a kilo. Unfortunately people like that give Greece a bad name... Also, they didn't even offer us some water and the whole atmosphere felt very cold and unwelcoming. No music or smiles, just grim and cold as a graveyard. Anyway, I would not recommend going there since there are other places at that area that at least respect their customers and offer a much...
