Lava Beach Suites and Bar — Hotel in Municipality of Agios Vasileios

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. I don't want this gem to become so well-known that there will be no more room when we want to go back. But I have to. We had such a good time that it wouldn't be fair if I didn't write a review. This is definitely the best place to stay in Agia Galini. It is within a nice, non-hilly walking distance of the centre (which is not a given in Agia Galini). The clean, practically furnished and comfortable rooms are basically on the beach. The very comfortable beach beds are included in the stay, which is really great. The bed is comfortable, a decent fridge with freezer and the shower is also very nice with decent water pressure. The overall atmosphere is so relaxed and welcoming that it was really priceless for us. The unsolicited free extras really make the stay. The owner is a fantastic and thoughtful guy who does everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Regularly after a day at the beach we found a free tasty snack (such as cookies, cakes, desserts, sweet rolls etc.) on our table outside the room. Even in the evening we were regularly spoiled with a dessert, fresh apricots from their own garden or a bottle of raki. We were there for a week (15 until 22 of June) and really didn't like having to leave again. The staff are all super friendly. There is live music several days a week. And when you would think "that live music is usually not a blessing", you will be amazed. The musician is really very good. A pleasure to listen to. Really nice songs and requests are always welcome. Absolutely Amazing Stay at Lava Beach Suites and Bar!

We had the most wonderful time at Lava Beach Suites and Bar in Agia Galini, Crete! From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel like family — incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming.

The rooms were spotless and beautifully maintained. Every single day, we were pleasantly surprised with delicious homemade desserts left in our room — such a thoughtful and personal touch that made our stay extra special.

One of the highlights was their love and care for animals! They have the cutest puppy, some adorable baby chicks, and a charming parrot named Markos who added so much character and joy to the place. It’s clear that the owners have huge hearts and treat both guests and animals with genuine affection.

Oh man where do i even begin? We were in the erea and heard the good word from one of our friends about this place. We went for a try and let me tell you it didn't dissapoint! The staff was friendly, food was fresh and delicious, the price was perfect. Maybe the only point of work is that they don't have hamburgers or pizza with beef in it. As my little daughthers wanted a hamburger or pizza we went with the pizza marghareta or the grilled chickenburger. It was good, still not our daughter wanted. But the rest was awsome, It was so good that i went there for a second time. Drove 2 hours just for the food, it was that good!!!! And what surprised me is that they remembered us. After our lunch they offered us a nice small fruit plate wich was nice of them. Both times i paid +- 50 euro's wich is nothing compared to their generousity, kindness, plate sizes and quality.
