Restaurant Kalami — Restaurant in Municipality of Agios Vasileios

This taverna was suggested to us by our travel agency. Its located in the middle of a walkway of shops and other tavernas. Comfy seating, and you can use their sunbeds for free after you have your meal.

We have eaten now at Kalami 3 times because of the wonderful food and very attentive, conscientious service.

The rabbit stifado is excellent, as is the carbonara. Also the salads (we had a different one each meal) are a must-have!

Ended our meals with ice cream (on sticks) and a lovely pomegranate raki (on the house).

Price of meals very reasonable, and the owner very gracious about the tips we left. Inside, there is aircon should it be far too hot to sit outdoors, but there always was a nice breeze each time we visited. And you can also do a takeaway, but looks like every taverna you can do a takeaway.

Highly recommend Kalami, great food and service! The owner is extremely diligent, sweet, accommodating.

Wir kommen gerade aus Kreta und vermissen schon jetzt Agia Galini, der Ort der heiligen Ruhe und Frieden, und genau dies spürt man in dem familiär geführtenTaverne Kalami. Hier begegnet man dem dem Gast sehr zuvorkommend und frei von jeder Aufdringlichkeit. Gekocht wird hier mit Herz und Liebe, vor allem alles frisch, mit sehr hochwertigen Ölen und mit vielen sehr aromatischen Kräutern der Inseln. Authentischer geht es schon gar nicht mehr. Ein Tag am Strand bei Kalami verfliegt wie im Flug. Man darf das Meer und die Sonne auf den kostenfreien Sonnenliegen der Taverne genießen. Es ist nur eine sehr höfliche Bitte damit verbunden, ein Verzehr, und sollte es auch nur ein köstlicher Café Fredo sein....für uns war dies überhaupt kein Problem ;-) ...vielen lieben HERZLICHEN Dank KALAMI ;-).

We have just come from Crete and already miss Agia Galini, the place of holy peace and quiet, and this is exactly what you feel in the family-runTaverne Kalami. Here, guests are treated very obligingly and free of any obtrusiveness. The food is cooked here with heart and love, and above all everything is fresh, with very high-quality oils and many very aromatic herbs from the islands. It doesn't get any more authentic than this. A day on the beach at Kalami flies by. You can enjoy the sea and the sun on the free sun loungers at the taverna. There is only one very polite request connected with it, a consumption, and should it also only be a delicious Café Fredo....for us this was no problem at all ;-) ...thank you very much KALAMI ;-) ....I send you both a lot of HEARTLY GREETINGS (rember the stones)

Εδώ σας συναντούν με μια πολύ ευγενική και απαλλαγμένη από κάθε παρεμβατικότητα. Η μαγειρική εδώ γίνεται με καρδιά και αγάπη, πάνω απ' όλα όλα όλα είναι φρέσκα, με πολύ υψηλής ποιότητας έλαια και με πολλά πολύ αρωματικά βότανα από τα νησιά. Μια μέρα στην παραλία στο Καλάμι περνάει γρήγορα. Μπορείτε να απολαύσετε τη θάλασσα και τον ήλιο στις δωρεάν ξαπλώστρες της ταβέρνας. Είναι μόνο ένα πολύ ευγενικό αίτημα, μια κατανάλωση, και αν πρέπει να είναι μόνο ένα νόστιμο Café Fredo....για εμάς αυτό δεν ήταν καθόλου πρόβλημα ;-) ...σας ευχαριστώ...

Kalami was for us the best of the best beach restaurants we found in 2weeks of travelling around Crete. We loved everything about this place! The vibe is really chilled out, clean and comfy. We ended up coming here every single day of our 5 days in Agia Galini. Manos and Athina went above and beyond every day to ensure we had the best time imaginable here. The chefs food is just magical! Seafood Tapas platter is fab. We also recommend their shrimp and mango salad with orange dressing, Burger to die for. The list goes on and on. Beach beds are free, the drinks are great. We look forward to our next trip back to Agia Galini n...
