Hotel Petra is decent, though nothing special. Room: the bed isn't a double but two singles pushed together. The room is spacious with plenty of storage and plugs. It has air con which isn't spectacular but is fit for purpose, and a TV which is pretty ancient. There's a fridge which is very handy for water and snacks. Everything was clean when we arrived. Our room has a big balcony which is nice, a sun trap later in the day but can sit in the shade early in the morning. Bathroom: very small and awkwardly shaped. The bath is slightly uneven and the only window opens directly in front of the shower head. The water pressure is very good. Breakfast: bread, cheese, ham, crackers, yoghurt, muesli, spreads. Everything tasted fine and there is a nice outdoor area to sit and eat. Coffee was good. Orange juice tasted very watered down. Pool: really good, big and clean with nice views. There's a snack bar and the staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Use of the loungers is free. Location: good, not far from bars and restaurants and the beach. Near a little supermarket. Views are nice. I won't comment on price as it was kindly paid for by a relative and I don't know how it compares to other hotels...
Read moreThis hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I was instantly greeted with a warm welcome by one of the ladies at reception who was very accommodating. Check in took 5 mins and I was shown to my room straight away to leave my suitcase after which I was shown the main areas (breakfast area and the pool). All the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming and made an effort to talk to me. The rooms are cleaned every day to a very good standard. The room I had had a lovely balcony with half of the view being the mountains and the other being the sea (ideal!). Breakfast was a lovely spread each morning with a variety of food from pastries, ham, cheeses vegetables, fruit, cereal, coffee and juice. The hotel is a 5 min walk from the coast and takes you through the village with all the restaurants and shops. The pool in the hotel is great too; clean and catches the sun for the whole day. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Crete and is looking for a quiet location to stay in. This was my first solo holiday and I couldn't have chosen a...
Read moreWe stayed just for one night at this hotel, it had a charming feel of an older hotel and our room was a little dated but it was clean, had a small fridge and balcony. The beauty was the layout hence my title, iT had passages and stairs all in traditional stone and with blue doors, very greek. The pool was very nice and there was a bar area which whilst not new was very pleasant.||||Breakfast was served in the dining room with a terrace balcony outside - tip = if you want to sit here get up a little earlier!! Breakfast was very nice and plentiful and worth having to start your day.||||Whilst the hotel in a little walk from the Centre its not too far but be warned whilst it is down hill one way its uphill the other .... in the heat it can seem a long walk but it isnt and you can browse in the little shops along the way.||||A good value hotel with a...
