Balloon Cafe Brasserie & Cocktails — Restaurant in Municipality of Agios Vasileios

Last year we went to Crete - Agia Galini. During our stay I wanted to propose to my girlfriend. I didn’t know where yet, but as she choose to sit at Balloon the first night, I was sure that that had to be the spot.

A great place with a cozy atmosphere, good vibe and with the hospitality of the employees at Balloon I didn't doubt it for a second. The next day I came by to discuss if it/what was possible. The owner and a waiter immediately spoke to me and were looking forward to it. Everything I could wish for was possible and the whole team and family joined in to help me. They did everything they could to help me.

I came back a few times to arrange the proposal and even then the employees were always there for me. On the day of 'the moment' the whole team helped me to get everything ready, hold ‘will you marry me-cards’ and film. It was super successful and they didn't hesitate for a single moment. Thank you Nikos and Prenga (hope I wrote it right) for all your help. And of course everyone who helped me!

After my proposal we came many times during our stay and it was always very good. The food, drinks, cocktails and shots were delicious. We truly enjoyed ourselves and Balloon made our holiday a lot more enjoyable.

Balloon is the place to be in Agia Galini - we will definitely...

At a very prominent place directly at the harbor side of Agia Galini, Balloon bar/restaurant welcomed us friendly at any time. Car parking at the harbor is possible for free, but it is also easy accessible by foot from the beach or the town. Accessible even with disabilities as ramps are placed.

A big variety of drinks and food we could select from and even if our requests deviated, this was no problem. All drinks were great nonetheless if standard or special orders.

You want to watch soccer games while on holidays, no problem as a big TV is placed closed to the bar. No matter which questions on the town but also habits of locals we had, the staff and owners were more than happy to help us.

It was no question for us to visit Balloon almost every day - even though neighboring bars/restaurants tried to poach us :D - as we felt very welcomed and we will definitely come back. 😉

I had a simple greek salad and a couple of drinks. We have a good-sized free parking lot directly in front and a Breakwater that blocks the view of the sea, but overall sitting beneath the roofing area, the breeze is blowing and the temperature is lovely, not hot, very comfortable. I chatted with my server and the food came recently quickly.

Definitely worth sitting and enjoying the relaxing music, the really nice atmosphere and the food... hey, it's a restaurant, it was good. Price, reasonable for the area but not budget. I might come again, but for dinner and check out other dishes.
