Whilst you cannot fault the staff for their friendliness and hard work, I'm afraid I was quite disappointed with the state of the accommodation provided. ||||I booked a non-smoking room and the first thing I noticed was the strong smell of cigarettes all over the apartment. It was really bad. I immediately I opened the windows and as stated by previous reviews, the noise from the road is so bad that even with the closed windows, it feels like they are still open. During the night it was even worst. Again this is not the staff's fault. ||||The worst was the noisy neighbours we had. Unfortunately, you can hear noise from the rooms next door as it seems the walls are very thin and no proper noise isolation is installed. We could hear the people next door opening their taps, washing dishes and even talking at all hours. These people were making all kinds of noises at all times (1, 2, 5, 6 AM!!!). ||||Things don't stop here. The standards of cleaning where not the best either and the rooms have seen better days definitely. We found rest of food in the kitchen drawers and the bed head was falling apart. This was never fixed even though housekeeping clearly could see this as they did come in to make the beds (see photos). Lastly, I did not use the wardrobe as it smelled like very strong BO. ||||I was very disappointed by this accommodation and it definitely should not be welcoming guests in this state. We did ask to be moved to other room but they claimed to be fully booked. We have to take their word for it. I would avoid this place and as I said, I wish I had taken seriously the previous bad reviews. ||||Having said that, the location is great for public transport and to see the sights. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby but if you want to have some rest after a busy day in the city, this is not the place. And if you make the same mistake as me, please do use the...
Read moreI stayed in an apartment for 2 nights: a very spacious apartment with 2 rooms (a room with 2 single beds and a room with a double bed), a bathroom, a living room and a small kitchen. The apartment is not very luxurious, but it's all you need for a few days at the beach. The only thing that has bothered me is the fact that the hotel is located on the street and that's why it's very much traffic noise, even with the closed window. Fortunately I was able to sleep without problems, probably because of fatigue. The hotel does not provide breakfast because the apartments have kitchen facilities. AC and Wifi worked really good. Reception staff helped me a lot, I was able to check in for the flight, and I also printed boarding passes from the lobby computer. They called me a taxi for the next day to the airport, costing 38 euros, about 30 minutes ride. The hotel is about 19 tram stations from Syntagma Square (center) and the tram station is nearby - you have to ask the receptionists to give you tram tickets because there is no ticket machine in the station. In the area there are not many restaurants/shops, I searched google maps and I found some options nearby but not much. You can walk down to a small beach, but it is not very touristy, but it is enough to take a swim in the sea. The whole area is not very touristy, so I do not recommend it for visiting Athens attractions, but it's ok for the beach. In the evening the area does not seem very safe, but I did not have any problems. If I get back to Athens again, I would not choose the same hotel because of the location - it is quite far from the center, even if it has direct...
Read moreI stayed in the hotel in the beginning of July for five nights. I chose the hotel based on close location to the beach and easy access to public trasportation to central Athens. The hotel is indeed very close to beaches and transportation, but that is, unfortunately, pretty much all the good I have to say.||||We booked a "normal" room and were not expecting luxury but still a comfy hotel based on the pictures. What waited us when we arrived was a very musky smelling room, spacious though, with furniture most likely from the time the hotel was established. Everything was clean but so very old that the overall impression is just worn out. ||||What comes to sleeping it is not easy. For light sleepers this is not the place to go. Our room was not on the side to the road but it still sounded like the traffic was going right next to the beds. I had earplugs which allowed me to sleep for a night but even with those I could hear some of the very loud motorcycles. Even with the noise I don´t know which was worse that or the smell. ||||On the positive side everything indeed was clean and the staff very friendly. They can help in booking trips with KeyTours (recommended). The room is indeed spacious but I didn't feel like spending more time there than necessary. Kitchen is equipped but must say that the fridge was barely cold, wouldn't trust to keep e.g. meat there.||||This hotel is good for budget travellers who don't need much luxury and appreciate being near the beach and public...
