To Nisi Fish tavern — Restaurant in Municipality of Alimos

I discovered Nisi 4.5 years ago while staying in the area. It was great then and still great now for quality, atmosphere, and value.

Today, after a day of battling the bureaucracy, Nisi was a safe harbor of inspiring Greek comfort food. It is taverna style, with simple decor and tables, but manned by quick and courteous staff.

The server dropped off a large bottle of water and three HUGE slices of toasted bread with olive oil and aromatic herbs. Each slice was the size of an ancient Greek ship. I ordered their Tzatziki, which is great. Their Tzatziki attacks your mouth and tongue like an aggressive lover, but still has enough charm to ensure you feel good about yourself in the morning. This Tzatziki has a sharp flavor that transforms a weary worker into a Spartan or an Amazon, depending on your station in life.

The house white wine was gentle but solid; it washed my mouth like a priest after hearing a sinful confession.

The next step in this culinary Odyssey is the main meal. This was a one price meal, and after sailing the menu like Odysseus seeking Ithaca, I chose a combination of chops and kalamari. Each plate alone was more than enough, and I regretted being alone on a Monday evening.

Nisi is a place where one can go solo, or with a group of friends. Go with friends, though, because the larger group can order a greater variety of Aegean sampling.

The desert choices were few, but after full oratory exercise that began with the white wild Tzatziki teaser, I chose the smooth silky sweetness that only comes with dark chocolate (cake).

Whatever your desire or mood, Nisi is the restaurant safe harbor to fill your stomach and your soul. Inspite of the tone of my review, this is a family friendly and neighborhood...

Just because there is no 0 stars.... Have been there a few times trying different things on the all you can eat menu....The quality was just acceptable for the concept and the place is pleasant like a traditional taverna and spacious with easy parking nearby. Last time I was there a couple of days back and had mostly ordered starters. After some time I ordered a portion of cod with garlic sauce and a soda water because I rarely drink alcohol. I was busy on my phone and noticed that about an hour passed without the food arriving. I asked a waiter what happened and was bluntly told that the all you can eat offer is only 5 portions no more. I said OK good to know but I had a few questions that I did not receive answers to. The first was if they thought I was a malaka and could stay there forever waiting to eat without being told that the food would never arrive..... The waiter said something behind his teeth that only he understood and then I asked where does it say this on the menu or in a sign in the premises again no reply..... Third was asking the bill that I paid without even looking whether I got a proper receipt or not and left the place angry..... Obviously I will never go there again because they are a fraud and for what they offer misleading people that is all you can eat quality and quantity wise it is expensive especially if like many Med people you order many starters like meze..... The funny thing is that they have an online menu and page that says nothing about 5 dishes.... They are so shameless. Will never go back there! I see that dozens more people have nearly the same comments and experience. Probably they catch new fish as clients from tourists in the marina otherwise they would be...

Our first impression was ruined at the very beginning of the visit. We came as a group of 12 people and were given 3 menus for the table - when asked for more, we were told to take pictures and share them - only after coming to the counter, we were finally given additional 2 cards. Placing order took ages and was a nightmare too - the waiter was ignoring us and was not helpful explaining the menu, making us even more confused. Finally most of us took sets and the rest some single dishes. The food came in parts and some dishes were missing, we were served some additional meals we did not order - mess like hell. The worst part started while paying. Although we asked for the bill, the waiter did not want to bring it and wanted us to pay right away. He charged our table like if everyone ordered sets, which was not true. He may thought we do not realise he is trying to cheat us adding almost +40euro for meals we never ordered and was even arguing with us, refusing to bring the right bill. Also what is worth mentioning, the waiter wanted us to pay more for some meals, showing a different menu with higher prices (but fortunately we had a proof in pictures of menus we got from him at the very beginning).

It was the worst experience and none of us was ever given such poor service. Shame on you!

PS. Food was average, but good value for money. Our visit was 3.09...
