Kalliopis Rooms — Hotel in Municipality of Amorgos

What a precious spot to call home for four nights. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the wonderful host, Venezia, whose warm and welcoming hospitality made us feel instantly at ease. It’s clear that this special place, which she maintains with such love and care, holds a certain magic, much like the island itself.

The hotel, named after Venezia’s grandmother ‘Kallisopis’ carries with it a charming old-world elegance. The simplicity of the space reminded us of times when life was less complicated, and that simplicity was part of its beauty.

Our room, though basic, was perfect. The high ceilings, large wooden floorboards, and exceptionally clean bathroom (recently renovated) with a hot shower and excellent water pressure made it feel like a retreat. The bed was comfortable, and everything we needed was thoughtfully provided.

We particularly loved the private, spacious balcony—a perfect perch for people-watching while overlooking the sea and the quaint little harbour. The gentle sounds of village life floated in on the breeze, creating an atmosphere of complete serenity.

Directly below us was the best restaurant in town, and within a short stroll, we found a supermarket, more fantastic eateries, cozy bars, and an incredible beach. The 30-minute walk over rocks and along the sea to reach the beach was a highlight of our trip, especially when we discovered the canteen selling the most delicious Palomas we’ve ever tasted!
