Every year we are visiting Greek islands and Dolphin studios is one of the best studios we ever stayed. The view over the Chora and the bay is breathtaking - each time of the day it has different colours. The room we had called Fida, it's probably one of their smaller rooms but we really liked it. |It's clean, quiet and well located (in Pera Gialos, at few minutes from everything). The refurbishment is in their local style, modern, comfortable and fully equipped. The bathroom is small but comfortable, has a build in shower (with no shower curtain that is common in Greek islands). The kitchen has everything we needed. It has an modern cooker and it was very easy to prepare breakfast & dinner. The bed is comfortable too and there is a small sofa witha coffee table overlooking the castle. It's a very clean studio, the staff is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Kiria Evaggelia (that also owns the Acrogiali taverna and she's busy especially in August) must be the nicest person we ever met. She was there whenever we needed something and made us feel like home. At the moment we've been 3 times in that apartment but we never had time to write a review. We will definitely go back to Astypalaia; it's locals, food, beaches and scenery are too beautiful and we will always make sure we will stay in Dolphin studios...
Read moreWe were three people, staying at Fida room for 3 nights. The best part about the room was the cozy balcony with a great view of Chora and the castle on the top of the hill. Unfortunately we weren't satisfied with the rest of the services provided, in fact we fairly had any services. The bedsheets, bedspreads weren't that freshly washed/ changed and they would change them once in two days. We had to ask for pair of new towels the first night and that was treated almost as they did us a favor. However the location was good, you could walk up to 10-15' on foot until Chora and there are also few restaurants and cafe places just at the port, where the room is located. To sum it up, don't expect anyone from the Studio to arrange transportation from/to the port despite the fact that most of the studios do and the fact that the hours the ferries are coming to the island are very inconvenient for the visitors, especially if you're coming for the first time. Lastly, money wise it was rather expensive for what it...
Read moreWe stayed for a few days at the "Dolphin Studios". The studio's space was limited. However, it provided the necessary equipment, a kitchenette to prepare something to eat and the basic for a simple breakfast (jam, butter, instant coffee sachets). The positive elements of the property included a convenient balcony and a central location in Pera Gialos; the negative element focuses on costs. The owner was hospitable and gave us the possibility of transfer to and from the port, which was important as the port is located in a difficult area (especially with luggage). Overall, the experience was good, but I would definitely prefer a better value-for-money place because this one was too expensive for its facilities (80...
