E&G-Figareto Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

We were only one night, but it was so planned, because we aborted our trip to Albania.

The house is cca. 50m from bus stop (bus Nr. 2A), busses mostly run every 20 minutes from / to the city centre, you can change bus Nr. 15 from / to the airport. Ticket costs - on the bus - 1.70 EUR / person / occasion. You can lay with creditcard too. Airport terminal is cca. 3200 meters to walk from the house. You can walk with a little bit effort. Everything was perfect, we were in apartment Nr. 6 with separate bed room amd a big balcony. Brand new (completely renovated) was the flat. Fully equipped kitchen (fridge, Nespresso coffee machine with free coffee capsules, tea bags, water kettle, cooker, mini oven, sandwich maker). The cold mineral water was a pleasant surprise. Bathroom was also new, no mold. Beds (1 king size bed, 1 convertible bed) were very comfortable. There was an iron and ironing board. After check out we could leave our luggage in the house, and we could change our clothes after visiting the beach. The owner Mari and her sister and daughter(?) are very helpful and friendly. They speak good English. We wish them good luck for business!

About the neighborhood: Positive: Local people are very nice and speak English. It is a beautiful area with lots of bar, hotels, and apartments. All places accept creditcards, with contactless payment too. For airplane fan - like me - it is a special place, because you can see the landing or taking off aircrafts from cca. 100m. There is also a water dam, you can stand directly under the landing planes or behind the taking off planes. There is a small mountain with few bars, they are very nice as spotter places with nice view to runway. It is worth to visit the "Holy Monastery of Panagia Vlacherna" direct in the little harbour and Pontikonisi ="mouse island", ship costs 3.00 EUR / person, the yourney takes cca. 5 minutes.

Negative: narrow streets without sidewalks, weedy and unkempt areas in some places. For those who don't like flying, it can be too noisy from the many departing and arriving planes (runway end 100m) For me it is a...

Mari und ihre Mutter Eleni betreiben diese Appartements und wir haben uns von der ersten Sekunde willkommen und wie zu Hause gefühlt. Die Appartments sind geschmackvoll und modern eingerichtet, gute Matratzen und blitzsauber, so dass man vom Boden essen könnte. Tolle Gastgeberinnen mit denen ich gerne privat auch einen oder zwei Kaffee oder auch Weinchen trinken würde, ein absoluter gelungener Aufenthalt vom ersten telefonischen Kontakt bis zum Abschied! Sehr saubere Ferienwohnung mit allen was man braucht. Zimmer wird nach Bedarf auf Wunsch gesäubert. Handtuchwechsel auch kein Problem. Wäsche kann man hier auch waschen, kostenfrei. Mari ist immer schnell zu erreichen und bei fragen stets hilfreich zur Verfügung. Bars, Restaurants und Supermarkt ist fussläufig zu erreichen. In der Nähe ist auch ein strandabschnitt mit liegen, ebenfalls zu Fuß zu erreichen.
