Stayed at ipsos holidays for a week in June, slight problem with transfers from airport as dropped about half a mile from hotel by a company called lords travel, left abandoned by the driver on main strip/ beach , he obviously didn't know where ipsos holidays hotel was! But I was kindly helped by Greek people who owned/ worked in a tourist type souvenir shop , they tried to locate hotel for me & called the company to advise them of the mistake they made leaving me in middle of the resort! Anyway I eventually arrived at my hotel 2.5 hrs after landing in corfu( it's only 14 km from airport to ipsos) so when I tried to locate reception area I realised there wasn't one, however a few mins a lady called spironula arrived to show me to my room, as it's an aparthotel it's only got staff there mainly in morning for cleaning etc. Spironula had driven from her house 5 km away when she found out I was on my way ( this was now 15.45 hrs ) so I had a room on 1st floor rather than ground floor. Now when I saw the my room it looked nothing like the pictures on website. It was a basic twin room with small bathroom( nothing to great) old fashioned fridge well past sell by date but it worked! However the key to room has to stay in wall holder to operate electric so if you go out it turns everything off inc. the fridge so beware of defrosting going on ..|TV is an old style one- not flat screen & only a handful of channels so I watched bbc news as was in English ... ! Make sure you take toiletries & tea/ coffee with you as not supplied other than on day you arrive . However room a good size, big enough balcony overlooking the front of hotel on road side. The other rooms around back of hotel mostly have a pool view, good sized pool area , plenty of sunbeds but I didn't use the pool as prefer beach. Multinational guests, slovakians, Greeks, Norwegians etc. Didn't see any other Brits , mostly Eastern Europeans . ( bit on noisy side when closing doors!! Day or night!) I wanted a double bed instead of twins & next day was offered a better room on ground floor by pool, however I decided to just push the beds together & stay where I was as liked the sunshine on balcony plus it seemed quieter than around pool room so I was ok with my surroundings. Grounds well kept, rooms generally cleaned every day & clean towels. If I left cups in sink they were always cleaned & put away. Spironula works hard to make sure guests are happy & if you need help with anything she really tries to help. The other staff are friendly & always say hello.its a 5 min walk to Main Street/beach from hotel. Lots of places to eat , supermarkets etc. Beach not that great & it's right on main road. Try barbati beach which is 10 mins by bus, worth going to. Lagoon bar is a nice chilled out place, made it my local , €2 for glass of wine, on ipsos strip opposite beach. Going back to hotel at night was good as no noise from bars etc.lovely place for a week away, would definitely recommend . Thanks to the staff , especially spironula ( hope I...
Read moreArrived to our apartments, one room with a kitchenette and bathroom. ||The view was a bulldozer preparing for grass, and all the rubbish bins. ||The little road is full of closed down bars and restaurants. You don’t get to civilisation until you get to the sea front. ||We went July 24th, all the students had arrived. Our pool was about 20 lads whacking the ball and being loud. We didn’t feel comfortable with the children in the pool, as they had their music on and was loud and we felt unwanted. ||The evening came and the students were ready to party. By 1am and singing and shouting outside our window I messaged the hotel lady. She did come along to ask them to be quiet but that didn’t help. ||By 5am we have given up on sleep and had started to search for different accommodation. By morning we couldn’t sleep as the bulldozer was going again. ||We went to reception very tired, but couldn’t get to the desk as there were about 50 students sat on the floor. Finally we asked for our money back £600 x 3 for 3 rooms. They offered us £600 and wanted to keep £1200 for the one night. We debated this was not a place to stay for families and felt more like a uni dorm / hostel. ||The owner was refusing to budge even when we said we needed some money back to pay for somewhere else to stay. After a LOT of begging we got about £600 back. He kept £600 for the one night from us. We moved to Marilyn in sidari. Very quiet, lovely pool and pool bar and are treated like royalty. So glad we moved!! Do not stay at the ipsos, if you want to relax and sleep. ||Can’t upload videos but they were of the noise , parties and all the students sat on the floor...
Read moreWe booked 2 rooms for 2 couples to go and relax in Corfu. We arrived at Ipsos after twenty hours of driving. We expected to have a shower and take some time to rest. We were really shocked to see that the rooms were very untidy. The toilet wasn’t cleaned before our arrival which was absolutely disgusting,we found some flies which were dead on the walls,a lot of dust on the floor and under the beds, the air conditioner was not working at all and was also full of spiderwebs. The kettle, which I am pretty sure that was not cleaned ever before was very sticky and rusty, the fridge was yellow on the inside which tells me a lot about the age that it has,the toilet was leaking at the bottom, the light bulb was improvised and hanging down. We booked for a week with breakfast included but when we saw all that disgusting things we started to ask ourselves how the kitchen looks. We told the receptionist that we want to leave but she became very angry and after all the discussions she decided that we need to pay for one night per room because of the ‘cleaning that was made for us’. In the end i will not recommend anyone to go there!!! Not...
