I have now stayed at Eland Dream Villas twice (in 2024 and in 2017) and recommended it to many family members. In fact, I would not hesitate to book again at these lovely accommodations, situated about a 15-minute drive west of Chania’s old Venetian port.||From the moment you enter the villas, the attention to modern décor, cleanliness and functionality is very evident.|The villas we stayed in had three bedrooms and accommodated up to 6 people—2 people/ bedroom. Each villa consisted of two floors, allowing one bedroom to be situated on the main ground floor and the other bedrooms to be located at the upper level (or bottom level, depending which villa you were in). This allowed for more privacy between guests. ||Depending on the villa, there was either a large bed OR two separate smaller beds. The large bed with one large mattress, upon request, could be changed to two separate mattresses. All mattresses were very comfortable. All bedrooms and main areas of the villa had their own A/C units as well. ||Each bedroom had its own ensuite bathroom, making this very convenient for everyone. Towels were provided for both showering and for swimming, along with the usual amenities (blow-dryer, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, creams, lit closet, desk in bedroom, and locks for the bedroom doors). There was also a washing machine in each villa, with an iron and ironing board.|Since the villas are situated a short distance higher up away from the main street, it allowed for a peaceful sleep. The bedrooms even had mechanical blind shutters to allow for extra darkness and quietness. ||Each villa had its own decent-sized pool, with chair loungers, umbrella and an outdoor dining table, which was very convenient on days that we simply wanted to have a lazy start, or a late-night swim. The proximity to the sandy beach was a short 10-minute walk downhill. Having both the beach and the pool close by allowed the option for our group to choose either one or the other, and not all have to go together. Free parking was available for both our rental cars in front of our villa.||A fully equipped kitchenette, fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker, dining table, lounging area with couch, coffee table and chairs, TV, and internet were also much appreciated. ||Eleni was very prompt to answer all my questions by email or WhatsApp in English or Greek. Her mom Roula and Roula’s brother greeted us upon our arrival, fully explaining all details of the villa, with many recommendations on where to eat. Good seaside restaurants were close by at the beach. | |Thank you again for a...
Read moreI cannot say enough good things about Eland Dream Villas Chania and our stay in the Avgi Villa. If you don't want to read the whole review, let me give you the conclusion up front: book without hesitation! We had an absolutely wonderful and relaxing weeklong stay in the Villa. From the beginning, Eleni and her mother were warm and friendly. They communicated clearly via WhatsApp about the arrival and departure procedures and responded promptly to questions. At check-in, Eleni's mother welcomed us, explained everything and even brought us some delicious figs from a fig tree on the property. The modern Villa Avgi with its 3 en-suite bedrooms, two "living spaces" and dining and kitchen was spacious (bigger in reality than the pictures on the website), clean and still had a "new" feel (they were built in 2017). The Villa was well equipped. The kitchen could have had a few more staples like salt, sugar, coffee, but those were easy to buy and we appreciated the welcome wine and ice in the freezer! The beds and pillows were comfortable. The pool was heavenly and well maintained. The pool is 140m, so it was a bit deep for my young kids, but we were prepared so it wasn't a problem. There is no safety fence around the pool if this is of concern for families with babies and toddlers. The outside area is equipped with plenty of sunbeds and large parasols, as well as an outdoor table and barbecue (charcoal provided). A cleaner came every day for a quick fresh up and did a deeper clean/change of sheets and towels mid-stay. Eland Villas is in a quiet, residential location. You can hear the guests in the Villa to the right when they are outdoors, but not the guests in the upper Villas. While it is about a 15-minute walk to the closer restaurants and shops, it is much more convenient to have a rental car if you are staying here. We rented from the Chania airport, but there were also rental agencies in town. We used our car daily to visit the beautiful larger beaches on the Western side of Chania, explore the smaller beaches close to the Villa, visit Chania old town and to eat out at the fantastic restaurants in the area. If you are planning to visit the southern or eastern parts of Crete, plan on a 2-hour one-way drive. All in all, a dream vacation at Eland Dream...
