We went to Orexi three times during our 10 day stay in Chania. The food was fantastic, during our visits we enjoyed three of the different salads they had offered, all of them had a great mix of fresh vegetables, seeds, and either dried fruit, cheese and/or chicken with great balsamic vinegar based dressings. In all cases they were fantastic. We also had fish one time with our salad, another time we had a pork kebab, and the final time a pork gyro platter. In all cases, the meat off the grill was perfectly cooked and seasoned. In all cases, we had plenty of food. Also we really enjoyed the various house wines with our dinners. And the service was great, we really enjoyed our conversations with Maria during our several visits. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is...
Read moreWe visited Restaurant Orexi twice during our stay in Chania – and both visits were absolutely wonderful! 💙🇬🇷
On our first visit, I had the moussaka and my partner enjoyed a Greek salad – both were incredibly delicious and full of flavor. From the warm welcome with a little appetizer to the sweet homemade cookies at the end 🍪 – everything was just perfect.
We came back two days later and had chicken souvlaki and briam (oven-roasted vegetables with feta cheese) – again, so tasty and fresh! We even took two packs of cookies home – you can buy them at the counter, and they’re amazing 😍
The terrace is calm, shaded, and a lovely spot to relax – far from the noisy tourist places. A true hidden gem in Chania with kind staff, great food, and a welcoming vibe. We’ll definitely remember...

Good choices for food, ranging from traditional Cretan/Greek to classic restaurant dishes. Haven't tried traditional dishes before so can't comment on comparison. But still really enjoyed the flavors. Two notes: (1) shaded outdoor seating is limited so try to avoid busy times if it's really sunny and (2) when I asked about the traditional dish of the day, I was told it wasn't ready yet. Not sure if this is common, but there were plenty of other options to...
