We have been here for 2 weeks. The first week was our honeymoon. Very quiet place with amazing views we chilled by the pool as the weather was extremely hot. We arrived late at night and the following day Mr George welcomed us to the villa. However after reading some of the reviews we just said out hellos and disappeared. Mr George turned out to be a lovely guy who was very helpful whenever we passed him or needed him. We always go with villa plus and when you arrive there is nothing in the villa unless you buy the starter pack. Mr George had tea and the coffee and milk pods for the Tassimo. There was also various mini jams and honeys. In a little red glass bottle on the table was his wife's home made RAKI which was delightful this is a welcome by the family. There was also miniatures of shampoo, conditioner bath gel and bath milk. Also supplied cloths, washing up liquid, a couple of dishwasher tablets and soap. This may sound silly but when you have to buy all this it still adds up on the holiday.
The 2nd week we were joined by family and the villa has plenty of space and various of out door seating areas so you don't have to be with each other all the time. The pool was more than big enough for us (5 adults) at night the pool is lit and we were still swimming at 23:00 whilst staring at the stars. We were lucky enough to see Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Venus on our trip. The villa is spotless and is regularly cleaned by the cleaner who also done a fantastic job. She spent well over an hour cleaning to have the high standards we had. She did not get in the way you wouldn't have even known she was here. Mr George came to clean the pool too and again he was very polite. The security of the villa was high standard too. All windows bar the stair which is bars had remote shutters to secure your villa with an alarm too. I am so gutted to be leaving this place but will definitely return.
There is lots or taverna's very close by and little supermarkets.
Lidl is only 5 mins away in the car but the only downfall is all the hills. It is rather steep especially if your walking all the way from hersonissos port.

Read moreFantastic villa - Just lovely in every aspect. Set up above the main strip (I'll get to the height element in a minute!) the views are to die for, overlooking the port and town of Hersonissos. There are four villas in a line, but you have complete privacy from next door(s). We stayed in Red, which is second in the row. We were provided with tea, coffee, milk, bread, jams...... great when you get in late or don't yet know the area. There was even a little bottle of Raki. The pool area is great, with plenty of sunbeds. The pool itself wasn't too cold first thing in the morning, and got noticeably warmer as the day went on. We opted not to have a clean during the week due to teens sleeping in most days, but the pool didn't seem to pick up the usual gunk you get. It was as clean as the first day on our last. Beds comfy. Air con good. Alarm system for when you're out, and metal shutters on all windows for extra peace of mind (and it made sure no early morning sun woke us up prematurely). WiFi never dropped out.
The villa has been described as "car essential" and I can see why to a degree, but would counter it by saying yes, it's up a steep hill, which is not as nice as the flat, but if you're relatively fit and healthy, it really isn't that bad. It's probably 300 yards and gets the blood pumping, but don't let it put you off as the views and villa are worth it.
The local area is lovely. The people are lovely. The food is amazing. Its close to more hustle and bustle if you want to make the 10-15 minute walk down to Hersonissos, where you can get buses to wherever you want to go. A taxi back up to the village will likely be around €10-15, depending on where you are.
Overall, this has been our favourite villa holiday so far. There is a hill, and after a tummy full of whatever local dish you've chosen, it's something you'll have to suck up, but my goodness it's worth it. Views that are spectacular, a clean quiet environment and an owner who would do what he could to make your stay as enjoyable as he can. (I should mention we booked through Villa Plus and their rep was fantastic as well).

Read moreThe BEST place to stay!! Our stay at Danae Villas was amazing from start to finish. We stopped here as a family of 6 adults. The facilities are great, from the kitchen utensils, to the pool table and table tennis’s table outside. The best aircon we have ever had abroad too, as this is in every room. All rooms are spacious and have their own balcony/terrace, with amazing black out blinds/shutters, dressing tables, wardrobes etc. The villas are set at the top of the beautiful village of Koutouloufari. The hill to access the villa is extremely steep, however without the steep access the views would not be as fab as they are! We found that 4 seater taxis would go to the top of the hill to the villa, however some 6 seater ones would not due to the hill being a tight squeeze. Both of our 6 seater transfer ones did though, which was arranged by the owners of the villas themselves. The villas are extremely private and peaceful with a beautiful pool and loungers. It is extremely easy to get hold of George (who takes care of the villas) if you do have any problems or need anything. We were welcomed by George on arrival, who showers us how to use everything in the villa. We also received a lovely welcome pack which included bread, butter, cheese, ham, jam, coffee, milk, sugar, Ouzo. The reason for our holiday was to celebrate my Dad’s birthday, so George gifted a beautiful homemade cake for us midweek, which was extremely kind of them! We couldn’t have asked for a better trip! 10/10 for the accommodation, location, facilities and service! The only reason for not staying here would be if you’re of an age/ability that you may struggle with walking up the hill (however taxis could be an option). But the hill is SO worth it…there is always an inviting pool to jump in at the top for a cool down! Thank you so so much for an...
