Initially, our stay at Flisvos was great. We had 8 people across 3 rooms, all of which were basic but standard - a toilet didn't work, no hot water ran, 2 lights were broken and an AC unit leaked all over a bed, but these were minor complaints which were seen to. ||However on our third night, a ceiling literally collapsed. This was a shared ceiling/floor of 2 of the rooms and so we had to cram 7 people into a 4-bed room; with no space I took the sofa in the hall, despite the danger of anyone being able to reach me (the front door of the hotel had no lock). There was no emergency contact so I had to wait until 9:30 for the owner to turn up to explain what had happened. He seemed unfazed even saying that this had happened before. He tried to insist that the room above the broken ceiling need not be vacated as there was no visible damage - an incredibly unsafe money-grabbing move. He also offered no explanation or support to the members of our group when they asked how and why this happened, even shouting at one of us.||Furthermore, whilst I was showering in a spare room (after vacating the broken one) just putting shower gel onto a large ceramic shelf snapped the screw in the wall, causing it to slide and fall, smashing by my foot. I showed him this and showed how I could crumble||When it came time to pay, he told us it was cash only. I pointed out the part of their page on Hostelworld which said credit and debit were both accepted. He presented a card machine flashing "network error" so we had to spend £30 just to take out cash from an ATM. This was okay as we were only paying for one room for a few nights. However our friend had an £800 balance which would have cost over £100 to take out. This was also for the two rooms which had the structural damage. We had to insist that he give a discount to make up for the lost night's sleep and damage caused by the ceiling falling through, something he pushed back...

However, the general upkeep of the hotel is ultimately dated due to a number of reasons. Firstly, there is a musty, old smell around the hotel which is quite unpleasant to be greeted with. Second, the showers are both poor on water pressure whilst not having shower a curtain or shower holder, meaning the bathroom gets flooded anytime a shower is taken, in addition the running water is brown and most off putting. For a hotel in 2025, it is ridiculous to not have wifi for international guests who don’t have international roaming. When I arrived to the hotel, there was empty toilet roll left behind alongside the bins which hadn’t been taken out from the previous guest. Finally, the receptionist of the hotel although I’m sure a pleasant gentleman was quite unprofessional in his role - when I arrived to check in he was wearing only his underwear while sitting at the desk, when I was sent to the wrong room he then shouted through the hotel for all residents to hear as he told me to “come here”. Unfortunately the receptionist added an uncomfortable aura to the hotel.
In conclusion, I recommend finding alternative accommodation for a similar price in the area which would be ultimately...
Read moreFor 2 young girls traveling we were heavily shocked and appalled by Hotel Flisvos. We did not feel safe when arriving here. The reception door was swung right open but there was not a soul in sight. We waited there for 2 hours and yet no one showed up. Reception was suppose to be open however no one was there. We did not no what to do as it was our first day on the island and it was our only accommodation book. We were lucky enough to find a different room at a different hotel, however i would not no what we would of done if this was not the case. ||||In addition to this the reception smelt disgusting and musky, like it hadn't been clean in a while. I would recommend to pay a little extra at a nicer hotel and feel much more safer with the knowledge that you will actually be welcomed when you arrive. This was also a worrying time for us, as it is the peak season on the island and the accommodation is...
