It was recommended to me by my lovely hoteliers. I wish I read the reviews first! I arrived at the start of service as I could see it was going to be peaceful with an excellent harbourside sunset. I was met by scowling/ null response from someone who seemed like slovenly mechanic. My intuition was tapping me on the shoulder to leave already. He then hailed a rough looking Ronnie Wood knock-off who asked me what I wanted....I had to think for a few seconds about what else I'd "want" in a restaurant?? My internal dialogue gave me the run-away sign, but I persisted. Ronnie Wood then nonchalantly pointed me to sit anywhere. There was only one occupied table at the time and I started watching the sunset. Ordering was tense, internal dialogue said I told you so!! I had green salad, fried calamari and half a litre house white which to be fair was quite the calamari was decent.
I observed other clients (mainly tourists at this time) receive a much warmer welcomes because my pedantic mind loves to capture evidence about consistency of treatment. The Mechanic crept up with my food as if he didn't want to be seen/ serve - he definitely didn't want to serve. I was looking the other way and almost knocked it over by accident. I didn't want to get 'the Mechanic's' attention which wasn't easy, so I eventually got 'Ronnie Wood' to take my photo. The feeling I had was of being most unwelcome at this establishment and I recalled how my parents might have felt when they arrived in the country in which I was born and saw signs in windows of lodgings stating "no Irish, no blacks, no dogs". Now on reflection I should have taken my hard earned cash elsewhere, but I leave you with a record of my experience as a salutary warning! Needless to say, I shall never knowledge visit this place again. I have to walk past to get anywhere though 🙃
Post note: Some lovely locals were shocked when I explained how I was treated. They mentioned it's popular...
Read moreHad a terrible dinner here. The waiter was quite unpleasant and arrogant. The pork chop was the smallest l have ever seen. Dry and tough and tiny with hardly any meat at a whopping price of thirteen euros. It was obviously pre cooked and re heated as it arrived at the table within minutes of ordering even though l had specifically asked to not be served my food immediately as l wanted to enjoy my wine first. I had to literally beg to have some salad on the plate too. After travelling in Greek for 4 weeks no one wants a huge portion of fried potatoes or rice or pasta. The lemons were green and unripe. The chips were good but that was it! Steer clear...
Read moreTerrible service, waiter too busy smoking in kitchen! Meat dishes were very good and tasty but Calamari was inedible. It’s such a shame because the meat dishes were very good but the attitude of the waiter was terrible. We sat for half an hour with no attention 3 people with empty plates and me with the Calamari that I had told him was not edible as was too tuff. The measure of any business is how they deal with things when something goes wrong and this place...
