Markos and his family were lovely and friendly very good hosts, and the night time security gentleman Goran was a great guy.
The rooms were adequate and any issues were resolved quickly.
The hotel is located in the centre of ios overlooking the beautiful village hill across the road.
The hotel has a good size pool, and inside bar area.
A convenience store is located a few minutes walk away as well as a good local cafe. The main street outside also has cafes bars and restaurants however you are far enough away to not let the noise affect you.
The night life of ios village is across the road and very easily accessible. The bus stop to get to Far out beach club and manganari beach is also a minutes walk away on the street.
Being a small island everything is easily accessible. The best place to hire a quad bike is down the road near Sweet Irish Dream club as they offer the best service compared to the nearest one which was not of the same standards upon inspection.
The port to the ferry is a 10 minutes drive and the staff can provide you the transport if you ask them which was very generous of them. Having this local knowledge is crucial and definitely makes the hotel better.
My only concern was being electrocuted whilst adjusting this lamp pictured. I have contacted them to make them aware of the potentially deadly problem and a fire hazard. It is likely a loose wire is touching the housing or it is wired incorrectly. This should be repaired as a matter of urgency.
Otherwise was a great stay, and would definitely recommend...
Read moreMy brother and I stayed here for 4 nights last month. The day before we were due to arrive I got an email asking my arrival time to the port but only for us to arrive and not find a transfer waiting for us. The location of the hotel is lovely, right in the centre of the town and nightlife. Once we arrived at the hotel, we were pleasantly greeted by George and his wife and he took us up to our room. Our room was good for the price, although one of the lamps was not working nor was the shower head working. We had to take the shower head off the shower for any water to come out and we could not hang it up either as the shower head holder was broken. We had a room directly above the bar and although we like going out ourselves, we found the noise at the bar went on until very early in the morning. We knew Ios was a party island before we came but we thought the staff would have opening and closing times. We were not able to go out every night due to a tight budget. As we would spend the majority of the time outside the hotel and only came back to sleep it suited us fine. When we checked out of the hotel, we found the woman on reception was quite rude and didn't even know if we had paid or not! The hotel was average but I don't think I will be back in any rush. I feel the hotel itself is more suited to large groups who come just for the nightlife and not for backpackers who enjoy a few nights out but also want to...
Read moreJust back from a wonderful stay in Ios, at the Markos hotel. George kindly picked us up at the port upon arrival, and brought us to his hotel, whilst highlighting the local amenities to us. ||The hotel is in an excellent location, right near everything needed for your stay. George and his family were extremely helpful and served up some very tasty and reasonably priced drinks and food. For example, you can get a chicken burger & fries for just €5.50. The pool area was really nice and was well maintained, and it caught sun right up until 6.30ish. There is security on reception each night throughout the night, in order to help with anything that may arise. ||The rooms were clean, and had comfortable beds. The showers had hot water all of the time. The cleaners came in each day and made the beds and gave us fresh towels. As a young group, we really had nothing to complain about. This is a family-run hotel, and I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for affordable accommodation. George even kindly dropped us back to the port for our ferry.||Would definitely return again,...
