We stayed at On The Rocks for four days surrounding our wedding, renting the Main House, the “Twins” villas, and staying ourselves in the Retreat and it was one of the most unforgettable accommodation experiences ever.

From the minute we arrived, everything was impeccable. Each villa (Main House + Twins) came with its own beautiful pool and the views… wow, overlooking the Aegean, with those golden sunsets that you dream about.

On the day of our ceremony (which we held on the lawn there), the team went above and beyond: setting up chairs and an arbor, delivering breakfast & danishes each morning, restocking our kitchens with drinks, doing daily cleaning and maintenance — all so that we could simply be fully present. Communication was a breeze via WhatsApp, and the owner (a Greek gentleman, long-time host) plus his two sons were always responsive, welcoming and genuinely supportive.

The property is so well-kept and well-architected, the outdoor kitchen, with its charcoal grill, was a highlight. Cooking lamb together with our friends on the last night against that backdrop of sea and sky made our send-off perfect.

For families: the Twins villas had outstanding kid-friendly facilities, there were many children staying with us, and the dedicated playrooms with toys kept the little ones delighted and relaxed while the adults mingled.

If you’re planning a wedding or a group stay on Ios, you need to consider On The Rocks. It set the tone so beautifully for our celebration, and we sincerely hope to return one day.

I just want to share my own experience at the “on the rocks villa” at Ios. We rented the house for a 4 day stay. On the 3rd day I felt violently sick, forcing me to stay home alone. I didn’t have any meds whatsoever. Thankfully Emmanuela, the host, took very good care of me and provided me with endless home remedies for me to feel better. Whether it’s a huge thermos filled with camomile, lemon juice, honey and cognac, any meds I needed or even a chicken soup. I truly felt at home and I dearly recommend this place not only for its great hospitality but for many many other great characteristics let it be the tidiness of the property, the serenity of the place or the beauty...
