Golden Sun — Hotel in Municipality of Kissamos

I had a very memorable time when staying at Golden Sun. I stayed there for two weeks (in September 2025).

When you stay there, you feel you are like a part of a family.

The location is amazing, you can walk to one of the most beautiful beaches on Crete.

I stayed in the older part of the appartments, that are part of the main building. The room met my expectations, there was a big balcony with a nice view, there was one room with two beds, and a dining table and one part of the room wasreserved for the kitchen utilities (refrigerator, cooking panel, etc.). So you can make your own food in the room, if neccessary, also they provide breakfast downstairs. They have a lot of parking spaces, for rental cars. Also you can get very useful informations from the owners about what to visit on the island.

I got my deal via Booking for a very low price, so I was very happy.

We stayed at a maisonette appartment for 10 days. Loved the beautiful sea view and the ventilation in this hot period - both aircon and ingeniously designed natural ventilation. The unit consisted of a living room with kitchenette, toilet and terrace on the ground floor, master bedroom with bathroom and balcony upstairs. There was a machine to wash our laundry in the unit. Our 2 children slept on comfortable if a bit narrow sofa beds downstairs. Wifi connection ok. 5-10 minutes walk to beautiful big beach of Falassarna. We cooked a few meals at home and found that the equipment was simple but consisted of just everything you need to prepare a small meal. Gorgeous characteristic boutique hotel with a stunning view of Falasarna beach from the terrace. The small beach is an easy 5 minute walk and has crystal clear water safe for swimming. The hosts are very accomodating and when the wifi signal was low they brought over another modem for the apartment. We chose the stone studio which was gorgeous, fully equipped kitchen meant self catering was easy, there was also a hairdryer and iron. Value for money is top as the view is truly to die for from the morning until sunset right before your eyes. It was clean and spacious enough, the only thing missing was a tea towel.
