We arrived off the Jet2 bus and went to check in, we were in a club divine room so were taken to a side room(club members only) where we could help ourselves to drinks out of the fridges and there was food laid out for us and our checking was done there with everything explained. So this room we could ask for the key at any point during our stay and help ourselves to the drinks which we did on many occasions when we wanted time away from the sun to relax. We then went to our room which was very spacious which could of easily fit a settee or seating area with double doors that opened to a side sea view . Rooms had mini fridge which was full but you can ask to be emptied so you can use it and kettle with tea/coffee facilities. The room was cleaned every day not spotless but clean. We were bed and breakfast and couldn't fault the breakfast which had everything you needed from cold to hot food and pastries. We always sat outside overlooking the pool and we went early so was nice and quiet and relaxing as later on got very busy. Pool area we didn't use as there were the sunbed hoggers getting up early to put their towels down and the pool itself was very crowded but luckily being a club member we had access to the rooftop with plenty of sunbeds of which you could go at any point of he day and still get one . 4 x jacuzzi to cool down which was much needed as it was very hot all the time we were there and a lovely seating area sun and shade area to sit and drink if you wanted and you could order food to be sent up if you wanted lunch (payable).Free drinks included from 10am to 6pm which was great from beer, wine , cocktails, and spirits and soft drinks with mini sandwiches and bags of cracker snacks everyday. It was very relaxing and quiet on the rooftop with amazing views over the marina. The rooftop then opened at 7pm for the public to use but we were out every night so didn't use it. We wet to the restaurant on the sea front part of the hotel for lunch one day and the food was amazing as was all the food we had in Kos and was lovely to sit on the seafront with breeze. The hotel has it's own private beach with sunbeds but the beach was pebbles and shingles which was not the best beach but still nice to be near the sea . After reading some reviews on the hotel staff being rude i have to say all staff were lovely to us, from a nice welcome on arrival to the all the breakfast staff including the chef who always spoke and the rooftop bar staff were chatty and lovely to even the cleaners so they were all friendly and polite . Outside the hotel you are literally minutes from the sea and the marina with plenty of lovely restaurants around so you don't have to go into Kos town every night if you don;t want to but only took on a leisurely walk about 25 mins and was a lovely walk on the seafront pathway which leads to the harbour. Supermarkets there is the spar shop next door to the hotel or turn right directly out of the hotel and there is one at the bottom of the street or go out of the hotel and the pharmacy on the corner follow that road and a few minutes up the road another supermarket. So overall we had a brilliant stay and would we return definitely yes but as a club member only as hotel for us was great and...
Read moreWe stayed at Kos Divine Hotel & Suites as a family of four – myself, my 11-year-old daughter, my mum (celebrating her 60th birthday), and my stepdad. We arrived late at night and the check-in process was quick and easy. We had booked a one-bedroom apartment which was clean, modern, and well-equipped. The layout worked well for us, with two sofa beds in the living area and a large bed in the bedroom. The only downside was the lack of storage space – we were there for two weeks and couldn’t fully unpack.||The room had a small minibar fridge (not the best at keeping things cold), a free-to-use safe, and excellent air conditioning in both the bedroom and living area. The balcony was small and overlooked the street, so not the best view, but we didn’t spend much time out there. Both rooms had TVs, advertised as smart TVs, but we couldn’t access any apps to watch Netflix etc. and had limited English channels – a minor inconvenience.||We had a few small issues with the room, but reception staff were very responsive. We asked for extra balcony chairs one morning and they were delivered within the hour. We also had a problem with the safe, which was resolved within minutes. The shower didn’t drain well, and although someone came to look at it, it didn’t improve much – we just dealt with a wet bathroom floor.||Our cleaner was lovely and spoke a bit of English, always making an effort to chat. She cleaned daily and refreshed towels regularly. We did have to ask reception to refill the provided shampoo and conditioner, as it was empty on arrival and hadn’t been topped up.||Breakfast was nice with a decent variety, though it became a bit repetitive over two weeks. The bar staff were friendly, though some didn’t speak much English, which led to a few mix-ups when ordering. Drinks were a bit pricey, and the bar closed at 11:30pm due to noise complaints, which was a shame as it was a nice spot to relax. The rooftop bar stayed open until 2am and had more of a party vibe with a DJ.||We never struggled to find sunbeds by the pool, and on the one occasion we did, we went across to the hotel’s beach area where there were plenty available. The beach itself wasn’t ideal for swimming – very stony and lots of seaweed – but fine for a bit of sunbathing.||The hotel offers entertainment most nights. We enjoyed the karaoke night, which was open to the public, and the Greek night at the beach side restaurant – a fun evening with good food.||The location is great – just a 15-minute walk into Kos Town. We hired bikes from across the road for €5 a day and cycled along the seafront cycle track to nearby beaches like Lambi, which was lovely. Many beach bars offer free sunbeds for customers, and I’d definitely recommend hiring bikes for the whole trip – it was a fun, easy, and cheap way to get around.||We stayed in room 116, located next to the stairwell. It was quite noisy in the evenings for those sleeping in the living area, as you could hear people talking and walking up the stairs. ||Tip: request a room away from the lift or stairwell if you're a light sleeper.||Overall, we had a lovely stay and would definitely return. |The hotel is well-located, clean, and the staff were helpful and...
Read moreHaving read so many good reviews for this place, we were really looking forward to our first foreign holiday for 3 years. Unfortunately it doesn't live up to our expectations, or the positive reviews.
It took us 3 days to get over the shock of being transported back to the 1970s upon entering our room for the first time!
Even considering other reviews which explained that this place was dated, we weren't prepared for the holes in the bathroom ceiling, the cracked tiles on the bathroom wall (which are a lovely shade of maroon red), cracked tiles on the bedroom floor, and the single beds posing as sofas.
We've stayed in many self-catering rooms, and know what to expect. This didn't even come close. Our kitchen area lacked basic equipment, including a toaster, a sharp knife and a chopping board. Washing up is a challenge when no bowl or plug is provided for the sink! As for the "bathroom", I can honestly say I've never seen a smaller bath. Think single shower cubicle...with a step in it, and you'll not be far off. Having a shower is like a game of lucky dip...Will there be any hot water or not? Having a bath isn't even an option...having folded our child into it on the first night, the bathroom was flooded as soon as the plug was removed from the bath. I know Greece isn't known for great plumbing, but surely emptying dirty bath water onto the floor isn't normal? Upon reporting the flood to reception, they weren't very interested, but said they'd send someone up in about an hour. Good job we didn't need the loo in the mean time!
Not to worry, at least it was clean...which is the one thing that I would commend this place for. The cleaning staff are excellent, and very friendly. I'd suggest that the reception and bar staff could learn a lot from them. Everything was too much trouble for any member of reception and bar staff, the latter only seemed to be friendly to those that were regular visitors . The rest of us even got told off for opening the ice cream freezer when trying to make a purchase!
Swimming pool is good, but many of the sunbeds have seen much better days and are ripped...even those that aren't are very uncomfortable to sit or lie on for any length of time.
Our experience seems to go against the majority of other reviews, so perhaps we've just been unlucky. However, we won't be returning to this hotel again the next time we come...
