Just returned from a 3 night stay, we booked last minute and got a great deal but we would have been hugely disappointed if we had paid full price. ||Upon arrival the hotel looked great, a modern, chic, chilled vibe with a calming zen like atmosphere. Check in was smooth and efficient and the receptionist was really friendly. The grounds are really pretty and well kept. Location is perfect, on the main strip but you wouldn't know that when you’re in the pool areas and it's a 5 minute walk to the beach. ||Our room was on the 1st floor, there was a lounge area with sofa bed and a separate double bedroom so ideal for our party of 3 adults. The room was modern and clean on arrival and the room was cleaned to a good standard each day with both bathroom and pool towels replaced daily. The cleaners were all so friendly. ||The pool areas are very pleasing on the eye but there is a serious lack of sunbeds for the amount of guests. Each day we were there all beds were taken by 9am....and this is the time the pool area is actually meant to open. Half of the main pool sunbeds were in the shade from midday, meaning your chances of getting a bed in the sunshine are further reduced. The smaller narrow pool was in the shade until early afternoon too. We visited at the very end of the season, so the sunbed issue would be much worse during the summer months. There is limited space on the ground floor to be able to improve this, we thought adding a rooftop sunbed area would be a good addition. There is also a really bad drains smell that wafts around at several points through the day, I'm not sure if this is something the maintenance team can resolve? ||The all inclusive drinks at the pool bar are terrible! Iced coffee served warm, orange juice was undrinkable, cocktails were more like squash and all pre-made in big plastic bottles...no decent drinks at all. The lady at this bar comes across quite rude at times and is always on the phone even when serving guests. ||Drinks in the main bar (open from 5pm) are not much better. The red wine is actually vile, looks more like blackcurrant and tastes terrible. Service in this bar is slow, often waiting a long time for someone to take your order yet being told off for trying to order at the bar. After being unable to drink a pina colada one evening, the waiter asked what was wrong with it, after explaining it tasted terrible he said it's because all cocktails are from a machine and that he would make a 'proper' one from scratch.....this drink was the best I had during my stay but when I asked for this again I was just given the machine version. The young lady at this bar is extremely rude, when I asked for 2 lagers she snapped that I need to ask for beer as they don't call it lager. Just rude! ||Food.... for an all inclusive model the food is well below standard. Breakfast in fairness was good, this was the best meal by far, your usual hot breakfast offerings as well as yoghurt, fruit, breads etc. The food could be replenished more often and I think new heat lamps are needed as the food was warm at best, some dishes were cold as soon as they were put out. ||Lunch and dinner weren't great. Lukewarm/cold food and no real flavour. Salads were good but hot food was limited and didn't taste great. Fresh bread always out at lunch & dinner but no butter and when you ask for it the waiter huffs and rolls their eyes.....I wasn't the only one asking for it and he brought out one sachet at a time....Just put it out next to the bread as it is clearly needed. Some simple adjustments like this would make the dining experience much better. ||The restaurant itself in terms of decor is lovely, chic and relaxing with no cattle market feel you often get at an all inclusive. It was always quiet in there but after speaking to other guests I think this is because most eat out elsewhere due to the poor food on offer. ||Again, the wine here (serve your own pumps) is absolutely terrible and the beer is mostly foam....no matter which way you tried to pour it. Not great at all. ||Afternoon snacks were brought to the pool bar each day around 3pm...pizza which was good and mini sandwich rolls....which were so dry as no butter....I'm not sure why butter is such an issue at this hotel! ||I think a bed and brunch model would work better at this hotel. Where breakfast/brunch is served 8am-1pm. There are plenty of places to eat out on the doorstep and most people I know prefer to sample the local food when in Greece so they would happily eat out for their evening meal. That way they could offer fairly priced premium drinks / cocktails and put more focus into providing better quality food during the brunch service. ||With an all inclusive holiday you expect to be able to spend all your time at the hotel if you wish to but this isn't possible here due to 1) the lack of sunbeds space so half the guests would need to spend the day at the beach in order to get a bed.|2) The food/drink quality is just not upto standard so you need to eat out for most meals/decent drinks.|Again, I think this is why guests would ve happier with a bed & brunch model. ||Overall, there are some great points about this hotel but the negatives outweigh the positives in my opinion....would I visit again? Not if the all inclusive model remains I'm afraid which is a shame as it could be so much better and the...
Read moreJust back from a brilliant week staying at this hotel. It is in a great location right on the Main Street which has a vibrant atmosphere of an evening and is a convenient 7 minute walk to the beach. The hotel is modern, light and airy and the rooms that my family and I stayed in were extremely spacious, clean and well equipped. We arrived late in the evening and after being taken to our rooms were delighted to find a plate with cold meats, cheeses and fresh fruit in the room fridge along with a bottle of water - a very nice touch after a long day of travel. The staff in the hotel were all very pleasant and very attentive at breakfast and lunch (we decided against having dinner in the hotel of an evening as we prefer to go out and sample the resort restaurants). For breakfast there was a good choice - fruit, yogurts, cheese, meats as well as hot breakfasts. Lunch also provided a good choice with hot and cold food as well as a good selection of salads.|There was a good vibe in the bar of an evening with a great choice of drinks included with the all inclusive. |The pool area was lovely and kept clean and the bar area there was delightful served by Stella who was a lively, energetic character with a great memory as she readily recalled our daily orders. The only downside which others have mentioned is the sunbed issue. Despite signs around the pool area advising that it is closed until 9am guests must go down from 6am in order to get a sunbed that enjoys the sun all day. If you go down any later than 7.30am you will only get a sunbed that has partial shade in the day if you’re lucky. What is really annoying and frustrating though is that despite signs around the pool advising guests that if sunbeds are reserved and unattended the towels will be removed this does not happen. On at least three days during our week at this hotel one particular family would send one of their young adults early to put towels on four sunbeds - that young person would then disappear probably back to bed. The family would appear for about 10 minutes just before going off for lunch and would then spend the afternoon flitting between other chairs they had in the shade and those four sunbeds they had reserved in the morning. This is really unfair but the hotel staff seem to turn a blind eye. On our final morning I was up early to pack and went down to the pool area at 7am. At that time there were probably only 6 or so sunbeds that were free all of the others had already been reserved. I really think the management need to re-think how they police the sunbed situation to avoid unhappy guests. Despite this we did have a lovely enjoyable week here and would...
Read moreJust packed and about to leave this amazing little find in Tigaki, Kos. |I usually have holidays researched and booked well in advance however this was a last minute booking and choices were limited. Reading reviews about the all inclusive and subbed situation left me worried however this hotel has pleasantly surprised us.|The hotel is a quirky boutique hotel with approx. 80 rooms. We stayed in a 1 bed suite as a family of 4 (3 adults and 1 younger teen) and it was a perfect size. We had a few issues with room over the week (fire alarm battery and a bulb going) however these were attended to immediately on reporting. Our cleaner (room 211) was fantastic and we were provided clean towels daily. The only negative about the room was that the balcony overlooked the kitchen of the next door restaurant - so I would recommend asking for a room number 01 -09.|The subbed situation has been mentioned a lot however we never found an issue. We managed to get 4beds on our arrival on the first day at 3pm and generally found that people were considerate about removing towels when not there. We are early risers and love the morning sun but there were normally beds available until 8.30am/9am, and seating until later in the morning. We loved the differing options of seats/beds, including bean bags and egg chairs and options for sun or shade throughout the day - this was great as a family with different preferences. For the days we wanted a later start there are a number of other hotels in Tigaki that allow pool use whilst purchasing drinks and beds can be hired at the beach for €15 a day for 2beds and umbrella. I would highly recommend a beach day (this said as someone that doesn’t generally enjoy beaches) - we rented our beds from a lovely chap outside Roosters restaurant and you can get service from the restaurant using the QR code located on the beds.|The pool area at the hotel has a fantastic vibe and the girls on the pool bar create a fun atmosphere. The iced vanilla lattes in the morning were a nice treat.|This is the first year the hotel has been all inclusive. It is important to note that this is not your typical all inclusive resort, yes options on the drinks menu and in the resting are more limited but everything was always fresh and we all found plenty of options each day. |The afternoon pizzas were a favourite with the whole family.|We didn’t try the Spa however my OH used the gym and was impressed with the facilities available.|I would advise if you want a traditional all inclusive experience this is not the hotel for you, however this is a fabulously chic little hotel in a great location with the bonus of food and...
