Lagoon Luxury Villas — Hotel in Municipality of Milopotamos

This is without doubt the best villa we have stayed in.

The whole place has been really well thought out. All of the five bedrooms are wonderful and comfortable. They all have an ensuite bathroom, air-conditioning, and balcony/outside space. They haven't scrimped on cost during building and the fitout is high quality. The kitchen is very well stocked with cooking equipment, which in our experience is rare. There is also a filtered water tap in the kitchen which is suitable for drinking and cooking. We drank this water throughout the stay and saved us buying bottled water.

The host was so helpful during our four week stay, we had a different group of people joining us each week, and they adjusted the configuration of the rooms as required. The property was cleaned once a week, this was an incredibly deep clean each time and included cleaning the outside area and BBQ.

The swimming pool was unheated during our time there (August) but was beautifully warm. It stayed absolutely spotless throughout our stay and was cleaned daily in the mornings before we were awake.

A big selling point was all of the outdoor equipment and toys for children. Swings, slides, water tables, and a little splash pool kept all of the children busy.

Although we experienced very few insects at all, all of the doors had sliding insect screens.

Pool towels are provided to use at the pool or the beach, which is only a short walk away. There are three beaches within easy walking distance.

The local town is aprox 5 minutes, easy walk away. There is a footpath for most of the route into town. There were plenty of brilliant quality restaurants in the town and Kastro Restaurant is about 1 minute walk away. There are a number of small supermarkets in the town and we were able to get all of the things we needed. The owners also direct us to an online supermarket and put all of our food away before our arrival.

They were also able to provide us with the number for a reliable taxi service, which was able to supply a small coach, mini vans, and luxury taxis when booked in advance.

The property has an alarm and shutters as well as a gated parking space. Though the area felt very safe.

It also has some great eco features, water is heated by the sun, with a boost if needed. The air-conditioning turns off in each room if the external door is opened and there is a hotel style key slot so you dont have to go around turning all the lights off each time you go out. There is no need to hire a car whilst you are here, though there is a car hire company close by if you want to explore the area.

Truely a 10/10 property.

We stayed at the amazing 'Lagoon Seaside Villa, sumptuous retreat' for 7 nights from Monday 2nd September 2024. Beautiful views of the sea and walking distance from lovely little restaurants, quaint bars, shops and supermarkets.

From the point of booking, Valia at airbnb looked after our needs, excellent communication, leading up to our arrival in Crete. (so sorry Valia, airbnb would not let me place my review as it was 14 days which just isn't enough for very busy people returning from holiday)

Manolis, the owner, what a beautiful soul, genuinely wants you to have the best experience. He was in contact with us as soon as we landed and was waiting at the villa with the warmest of welcomes. We were shown around the villa, all rooms have electric shutters, a balcony and one has a patio, we were made aware of how things worked which was so helpful, no having to guess. There was a huge bowl of fruit, oils, olives, bread, treats, drinks and essentials in the fridge and cupboards which was a huge help when you arrive late afternoon.

This villa is honestly unbelievable, it is so well equipped and so tastefully decorated and certainly high end. It is not only the cleanest accommodation we have EVER stayed in (including 5 star premium hotels) but it is immaculate with the best amenities from the kitchen area with icemaking machine, filtered water tap, to the covered outdoor BBQ area which is fantastic. The pool area is spotless and cleaned every morning. The villa, to our surprise was FULLY cleaned half way through our 7 night stay, every room, every area, including changing all the beds (sooo comfortable), towels and pool towels. There are high quality toiletries in the bathrooms. There were dishwasher tablets, washing tablets, foil and cling film, tea towels, kitchen towel and serviettes to use. Everything to make your stay less stressful.

The garden areas are super well maintained, they are lush, smell amazing and have a hammock and table tennis, balls etc to use. We would not normally play table tennis but its great fun with a few of you.

Manolis came to wish us a safe journey and say goodbye and to collect the keys. Our taxi transfer minibus was delayed by 45 minutes and Manolis even stayed with us and tried to help to get hold of the company which was not connected to the villa.

We can't speak highly enough about the villa and would 100% stay there again and recommend it to anyone wanting to book an amazing place in a beautiful location.

I am almost reluctant to review this because I don't want too many people to know about it. It's simply the best villa we have ever stayed in and it's difficult to know where to start.

The pool was the perfect temperature when we were there in August. It has a stunning view over the ocean.

Four of the bedrooms have balconies with sea views with the bedroom in the lower ground being just as nice and bright, opening onto the large and beautifully kept garden. Every room is a great room. (We had been concerned that the bottom room might have been dark but it isn't like that at all and has an almost suite-feel, and was a good spot for our guests with a baby who wanted to be slightly away from things occasionally).

The garden has loads of great stuff for kids and adults (hammock, table tennis table, slide and seesaw for kids) and is shaded for much of the afternoon. There is also plenty of shade outside for the hottest times of the day, while the villa stays nice and cool with the AC.

The finishes throughout are superb and it is comprehensively equipped with so much stuff that you wouldn't have even thought of such a water table for the kids with lots of toys, inflatables etc.

All but one of the rooms have complete blackout shutters, which is great for kids especially, as does almost the whole of the villa.

Minolis, our host was the most personable, responsive, helpful and diligent person you could ever wish to meet.

As well as all of this, it's worth noting just how well positioned the villa is too. There is a little beach about 2 mins walk away, which is great to pop up and down to even if you don't want to spend all day. The town, which has a superb selection of restaurants and is extremely picturesque is just 5 mins away (make sure you go for a sundowner at Ikona and go to Agkyra more than once), and one of the best restaurants in the area, Kastro, is literally...
