Posted for my wife, who was there with our kids and does not have a Google account.
Our experience at this hotel was disappointing from the start. Upon arrival, with not the friendliest reception (not typical forGreece), we received our room key with no information about the hotel amenities, such as beach towels or loungers. We had to figure things out ourselves. After traveling all day and missing lunch, I asked where to find a snack for me & my daughters (it was 3pm and couldn’t wait until til dinner) and was told there would be cake at 4 PM. The cake was dry and unappetizing, and tiny sad looking sausage rolls were as a vegetarian, I found nothing suitable to eat. We had to go to a cafe to buy sandwiches because there were no available snacks, despite being at an all-inclusive hotel. Later, we discovered there were snacks at the beach bar, but we were not informed.
The room did not match the pictures online; it was dated and worn, resembling a hostel more than a 4* hotel. The balcony furniture was old and stained, making it unusable. Despite paying for a garden view, our room overlooked a roof and driveway, with noise from delivery trucks.
The pool area was noisy with French entertainment, which we couldn't enjoy since we don't speak French. The furniture was old dated and tables were never wiped downy so full of drink spillages from other guests. When ordering drink, they always ask for your room number, (despite wearing the all inclusive band) which became annoying -it’s like you are constantly being monitored. The food was hit & miss and repetitive. On fish night, there were no vegetarian options in tje buffet, which surprised me as previous nights there were always a few options. Despite my fish allergy, the kitchen staff suggested mussels and salmon pizza (for fish allergy?) before finally offering just fries. How would other guest feel being offered just fries? This lack of accommodation for dietary needs was unacceptable. After the fish experience we decided to eat out every night, where we had great service & food in the tavernas along the beach.
When I said we would go to an outside restaurant, the restaurant manager told the kitchen staff to make something. They prepared grilled vegetables for me and my daughter. It was nice, but at the end of the day, it was just vegetables. We ate, was still hungry so went to the beach for some substantial food. We did eat at the other restaurant belonging to to the hotel, where can watch just once a week during your stay. This we found nice, so it’s difficult to understand why except this restaurant the hotel is incapable of delivering decent meals at the main restaurant.
When I raised all of these concerns with reception, I was told the manager was not on duty. It seems unprofessional and unbelievable to not have a mager on duty, for a hotel this size. And despite noting my issues and room number, we received no follow-up. This demonstrated a significant lack of customer care.
The positive points, the cleaning lady was great, and we appreciated the beach loungers reserved for guests and the beach snack bar. The views from the hotel are great and the beach is a short walk away.
However, these few positives did not outweigh the numerous negatives. The hotel clearly caters to French guests, and we felt excluded as non-French speakers.
We have been coming to Greece for many years, and by far this was the worst hotel we have stayed at in Greece. There was nothing 'Greek' about it and it was more a 3 * with the rooms being 2* . The lack of hospitality and customer care was deeply disappointing, making this holiday (hotel) a complete...
Read moreNot sure where to start. We got a great welcome. We got a lift with the electric car at the very entrance to reach the reception. For pure luck the always smiling and beautiful concierge immediately surprised us with an incredible upgrade of the room. A fantastic room that was beyond any expectation. The hotel is very clean. There is an army of cleaning personnel around you that remove empty glasses, redo your room even everyday, prepare your table and helps you with everything. At the bar they recognise you and you might find a glass of Raki ( or two) in front of you without asking and with a smile. I was initially sort of disappointed at the swimming pools as I was coming from a different hotel as they looked a bit small for the hotel. Then I completely changed idea. While one is warmer (135cm deep) for a late bath in the afternoon , the other ( 180) is calmer and fresher when it’s very hot outside and even partially in the shadow from a tree. Not overcrowded and you can find a sunbed without a very annoying reservation towel on it. There is a bar between the 2 pools and you can enjoy a fabulous view of the beach night and day. In the night you have even see the moon appearing from the back of the mountains. Everyone is really nice and polite and in our 2 weeks we never got any issue and we enjoyed every minute. The animation team. Personally I was initially not very fond of, due to the fact they tend to speak mainly in French ( the majority of the customers are French). Within few days I reconsidered the thing, even with not knowing any French, they filled our evening with songs, gags, activities and more. They don’t know what is fatigue, they run, dance, smile, act , in the sun with 32 degrees and more. They create a personal relation with you and you can say that they are having fun while they do their job. Facts: beach towels are provided and changed at your request, The beach is reachable by 2 set of stairs, one part of the hotel to reach to road. Pretty steep steps. The second stairs is to reach the beach from the main road. 48 steps. It is a good exercise but not something you want to do it twice up and down ( in case you forgot something in the room). Mini club. This was the love of my 8 years old son. He spent there the most of his time. Nadia was fantastic. She was incredibly nice and made our trip to the airport a total nightmare having our son crying loud because he didn’t want to leave. Food. Surely the best catering we had in all inclusive hotel. We kept saying at every meal how good it was and enjoyed all the mediterranean food. Probably the only downside was the wine. Get a glass of sparkling wine at the bar and bring it to the dinner table instead. Beer instead was very nice. Cocktails and drinks were pretty good for all inclusive hotels. Premium brands at additional costs but we didn’t bother. So many choices anyway there is no need. Advice: end dinner with some backava and get some raki at the bar. Beach. It’s Greece. No need to say anything else. The water is very warm and flat. A close beach called Karavostasi has water so flat that looks like a lake. We did a lot of snorkelling in several beaches. The closest to the hotel have the most fishes and they swim very close to you. We saw a few cornet fishes too. The hotel has a section of the beach with free sunbeds and umbrellas. There is also a bar there that as part of the all inclusive has ice-creams, drinks, salads, hotdogs and fresh fruit served in boxes. Super addition for who spent much time at the beach. We had really a wonderful time, a beautiful holiday, a second honeymoon and planning to go...
Read moreOverall we've enjoyed our stay and didn't let any of the below points spoil our holiday but if we hadnt been helped out by the lovely Ramiro on Guest Service with a room swap we wouldn't have stayed here to be able to review the hotel.|We were allocated room 413 on arrival and I have to say in all my years of travelling this has to be the worst room I've ever been given at any hotel. Thankfully after a conversation with Ramiro we were moved the very next morning to room 303 which was bigger brighter, cleaner, ant free and had a lovely view over the pool and sea.|Having used Mitsis various times before we are used to the usual high standard that Mitsis deliver. This hotel unfortunately falls way below what Mitsis have built their reputation on.|We knew when we came it was only recently taken over by Mitsis so therefore we're prepared for it not to be upto previous hotels standards.|However there is no reason whatsoever for some of the below problems.|Food a la carte are okay at best but the buffet restaurant is exactly the same every day. No show cooking no themed nights just very boring same every day produce.|Hotel is catered for the French guests who outnumber every other nationality so the onsite animation is all French and seem to only care or interact with the French guest's.|You can see what Mitsis have done so far with reception area, pool areas and adding the Italian restaurant at night. However it seriously needs a lunch service for food during the day as the only option is back into the extremely busy and boring buffet restaurant. I am sure this is something Mitsis will be looking at as they have amazing food options at other hotels with gyros, burgers, pizzas etc on offer.|Drinks round pool area are far quicker than at night and this isn't down to the staff at night as the team under the very lazy manager all work hard to serve everyone however with the amount of cocktails requested just makes it a very slow process not helped by the bar manager who just stands about looking awkward and typing in room numbers. Would be far more productive supporting and helping his fantastic team serving... just a thought!!!|Pool areas are great and no fighting for sunbeds always still available even after 8am!!|As I said earlier this is a project ongoing for Mitsis and I believe in the next few years with room refurbishment and utilising the areas obsite to their maximum this will be a very good hotel just falls short at the moment.|Anyway it's our last full day so back to relaxing round the pool which both are lovely.|Bali itself is fab, the beach and sea beautiful as most are in Crete.|Hope this helps but if you are Mitsis customers previously I think you will notice the massive difference in...
