This is NOT a 4 star hotel. I think it’s important people know what they’re booking. These are essentially studio apartments with a below average buffet restaurant. But even then, the studios are equipped with nothing but a fridge. Ours didn’t have so much as a teaspoon. There is none of the service you’d expect from a 4 star hotel. You’re very much left to fend for yourself. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. There’s no room service, the pool bar never opened in the week we were there so I had to go down to the beach bar and bring drinks back each time. The loungers on the beach are not free for guests (and are the most expensive in the area at €30 a pair, go elsewhere). You even have to pay for fresh towels if you want to take them to the beach. The locals have completely filled the beach with loungers so be prepared for a rather cramped experience. The next bay along is nicer. ||The buffet breakfast is good but I was stopped taking a cup of coffee back to the room with me. Even though there’s no coffee machine in the room, no room service, and the pool bar was never going to open he said. The buffet restaurant does an evening meal for €20 each. It was awful. The food was cold. I asked for a wine list but was just told “red or white”. Eat elsewhere for cheaper. The restaurant by the beach has a lovely ambience and vibe but sadly the food is also substandard and the staff are unfriendly (apart from lovely Ava!) Despite going in there for drinks every day there was no recognition from the staff. We had prawns and mussels which did not taste fresh and when I asked the waiter he could not confirm if they were fresh or not. I guess there’s the answer. ||The communal pool areas are lovely, and clean too, and the rooms are a great size, but just without the 4 star feel. We even had to make our own bed on the first night. Bizarrely the sheet was left folded up on the bed for us. The bathroom sink never had working hot water and the shower smelled of rotten eggs when in use. We also had flies in the bathroom like another review mentions. The safe is not digital and required us to go and ask for a key at reception. ||I stopped asking the receptionist for help because she did not seem at all interested to be honest. Even when I told her my young child had fallen ill she told me to check the doctor info online myself. Likewise, in the restaurant I told the waiter I needed to eat but was going to put my daughter into bed in the room. There was no offer of bringing food to the room. I had to leave her alone in bed and rush back to the restaurant for it. ||If you don’t mind self service and manage to get a last minute cheap deal here (as we did thank goodness), then this place is great. But just don’t expect a 4 star hotel. I have no idea how it has...
Read moreNice and quiet place at the Bali area on Crete. We've been in this area 20 years ago and it didn't change that much... except for one thing, that you can't rent a scooter in the whole city, while back then it was the easiest thing to rent. :)
OK, back to the hotel. Reception was great, communication in English without any issues, the lady is kind and helpful.
Food is good, dinners are altering a bit each day, so it's not monotonous. Not the most top class, but still pretty good meal, no problem to choose something. There are also salads or individual vegetables (incl. various olives), and also grilled vegetables as a side dish, if one does not want rice/potatoes.
Room service was also good, rooms were kept clean during the week, sheets replaced, ... all fine.
The only problem I had was with the room layout and cooling - we had the "superior" room for 4 people. At the entrance, there is a "living room", with a sofa and extra bed if needed, and a hall to one bathroom. From this hall, there's door to sub-room (let's call it "parents room") with double-bed, which has its own, second, bathroom, and a window to the living room (but only small top part can be partially opened). Here is also secondary wardrobe - without a single shelf, but at least with a lot of hangers for shirts and so.
It would be luxury for two people. We've been 4 though, which has two main disadvantages: with both the sofa and extra bed used, the wardrobe in living room is blocked and unusable, and then there isn't much space for comfortable living with things unpacked the AC is in the living room, but without much connection to the parents' room, you can't really cool that well - so if you use the AC, the kids will be a bit frozen during the night, while you're still a a bit hot. Bearable, but not fully comfortable. OK, and when I am in the negatives, last part - the clothes dryer outside is quite tiny and moreover under the split unit of AC, meaning the water from AC is dropping on it. :-)
OK, enough negatives. Despite them, it was a nice stay. I appreciate the two bathrooms - that was very useful, then good meal, and also the location - it's very close to the sea, and the sand beach is clean, with some water sports available... so overall, we had a nice vacation here and I can...
Read moreI have to reply to the response from the hotel to my valuation from June 2023. I sent it from my moms account - Marie Zakova, as I did not have google account at that time) Dear Madame, what you write is just one big LIE. I arrived with two kids and got room no. 307. I booked standard room with SWIMMING POOL view (not sea view like you say) from the travel agent. Room no. 307 has terrace and windows to the corridor, next to the elevator. I immediately went to you to say this must be misunderstanding, I have booked room with swimming pool view. You said that you had NO OTHER room available and that I must speak to the travel agent. The agent could not help neither, you said there was no other room available. I just refused to leave it like that, so then you all of a sudden offered room with garden view. That room smelled like toilets and had no swimming pool view, which I have requested, booked and paid!! So that made NO DIFFERENCE. We came for 4 nights and 2 nights we had to stay in the room with no option to open window, turn lights on or sit on the terrace on the corridor, people walking just near our terrace to the elevator. When you come for 4 nights and 2 nights are just awfull because you do not get what you boooked and paid for... Then you post this response full of lie saying I was asking for the see view, which is NOT TRUE. We only wanted swimming pool view, as that was what we booked and paid for. Lady, you need to learn how to work with clients in the travel business!

Dear Maria, from the first moment of your arrival we offered you options to change the room with a bigger one with garden view but you just rejected it because you wanted a sea view room and not a standard room which you had paid for.We couldnt upgrade you to a sea view room as the sea view rooms was fully booked the period of your stay but with the first oportunity we changed the room for you with an option which was acceptable from you. Your room was booked through a travel agent who has only two type of rooms thats why the receptionist asked from you to speak with them. Anywhay we want all of our guests to be happy and have a nice stay with us, we do our best to make...
