Manesis Suites — Hotel in Municipality of Milos

Nested in the idyllic village of Pollonia, our stay with Manesis suite is nothing short of spectacular. The experience started even before we arrived. A week prior to arrival, John contacted us to enquire about our arrival time so he can pick us up from the harbour. He was extremely helpful and provided a lot of information which is useful for us to plan for our trip.

The real surprise came when we finally arrive at the place. The entire house is tastefully decorated, and very cosy. It is evident that the owner of the hotel paid attention to details to make their guest feel at home. There is a living room, 2 toilets, a kitchenette and a pool located outside of the house. As I was in Milos to attend a conference, I appreciate that Manesis Suite is well equipped with items such as a handheld garment steamer, short shiner sponge and etc. The toiletries they have provided are also of excellent quality making our stay a pleasant one.

John and Nickos who tends to the suite understands that this is our first time in Milos hence sit us down and explain to us the highlight of the island and good places to have our meals. They have been very caring and provided us with a contact number so we may Whatsapp them if we encounter any difficulties on the island. Shortly after, they brought in a large tray consisting of our breakfast.

Our needs are well taken care of during our stay. Even the chambermaids in charge of cleaning our room daily was very friendly and helpful. They asked us what do we like on the breakfast basket so they can be well replenished on a daily basis. They also enquire what time we will be leaving the hotel for our activities so they can come in to do the necessary cleaning without interrupting us. Sincere thanks to Marilena and the entire Manesis Suites team for making our four-night honeymoon stay in the Bentonite Suite such a memorable one this month. We arrived to a lovely bottle of wine, roses and a full breakfast basket. Marilena took the time to walk us through her local recommendations for experiencing the best of the island and kindly organized car hire on our behalf. The guest room was impeccably clean, spacious and complete with all the modern comforts like a Nespresso machine, garment steamer, fully equipped kitchenette, luxury bathroom amenities and towels for the onsite pool. We enjoyed the convenient location, within walking distance to excellent restaurants (and water view sunsets) in Pollonia, and only a short drive to nearby beaches such as Papafrangas and Sarakiniko, to name a few. It was however, the warm service of the Manesis Suites team that were the highlight of our vacation. We are eagerly planning our next trip back to Milos and already know where we’ll be staying. Nice apartment, good location, stay was soured by bad experiences with staff.

Sketchy maid staff. We were strongly accused by the maid of damaging a window shade in the apartment, which we absolutely did not do. The staff tried, at length, to pressure us into admitting to something we did not do, and presumably paying for it. This was a very uncomfortable interaction, which unfortunately soured our stay at this property. Nobody wants to have a tense, accusatory conversation while on vacation, which unfortunately we were subjected to.

The next morning, two maids entered the apartment without permission, while my girlfriend was still inside, under the guise of “making sure we didn’t forget anything”. I believe that they were looking for something else to pin on us.
