How this place has 4.5 stars is beyond me. The TL;DR version of the below review is: awful service, even worse food. However, if you’d like the detailed justification of my 1 star review, read on. After sitting at our table for over 15 minutes without a single interaction with a waiter, we finally flagged down someone to take our order (water, ouzo, bread, salad, and 2 pasta dishes). The place was clearly busy so, at first, we chalked up our complete lack of interaction to just that. Maybe another 10 minutes later we got our salad, quickly slapped down on our table by a whirling dervish; gone faster than we could mutter a word out of our mouths. Another 10 minutes pass and we start talking amongst ourselves about bread/water, etc and the busiest waiter in place overheard us as he was passing by and kindly offered to get some for us (note: this guy was working so hard, literally out of breath and dripping in sweat, but we had limited interactions with him as he wasn’t our waiter…TBH I don’t even know who our waiter was). Many more minutes pass and we get bread but no water so, we flag someone else down for water. Apparently 3rd time’s the charm because shortly after we finally got our water and then our main dishes. I wish I could say this is where the negative review ends - I genuinely don’t write reviews - but alas there was nothing redeeming about the food either. The seafood linguine was, in my partner’s words, “boring and bad. There are no other words to describe it.” We’ve been in Greece for over 10 days, across 4 different islands, and have never had such bad service and horrible food. Avoid if you’d like to save yourself from wasting €60 and 2 hours...
Read moreWe spent our last night in Milos at Rifaki. Sat down around 9:15 pm on a Sunday night, the restaurant was full but not over crowded. This restaurant was packed over the weekend so we figured after looking at reviews we should check it out.
We ordered food and drinks around 9:30 and got our drinks/ one appetizer about 10 minutes later. After 45 minutes of waiting, we figured something was going on. FINALLY, around 10:30 pm, the waiter approached our table asking if we were ready for the check, not even realizing we hadn’t gotten our entrees yet. We told him that we were still waiting for our entrees, but at that point if they weren’t ready we’d just take the check.
He quickly scurried over to the kitchen to see what was going on and came back to our table saying the staff had never put in our entree order. About two minutes later the three entrees came out, ironic.
Long story short, the wait staff forgot to bring us our dinner and we were offered our check before the dinner came. They did the right thing and did not charge us for the drinks and appetizer we received.
We wish we could’ve enjoyed this restaurant, but there’s plenty of other options to dine at before...
Read moreGreat delicious food and outstanding service! We waited and wasted 1,5 hours for the Yalous and left upset after we were treated by the rude host of that restaurant. We stumbled upon Rifaki, where we were welcomed like a family member, seated on the beach by the water and ordered locals favorites dishes that became ours. EVERYTHING we ordered was DELICIOUS! MUSSELS in feta ouzo sauce, anchovies, juicy and perfectly cooked bifteki, souvlaki, Dakos salad, baked feta in phyllo dough, calamari.
Don’t waste your time going to other restaurants in Pollonia, just go straight to Rifaki. We ended up being disappointed or not impressed with other establishments for food, drinks, and dining that we ended up coming back to this place 3 times to forget the negative experiences. Also I recommend you to ask for Nikita server. From the first moment, he was nothing but a delight and amazing, honest person to have conversations and all his tips, recommendations were good for the things to try, see, visit in the...
