This restaurant was highly recommended so I made reservations and we were so excited for a great evening. Unfortunately, the incredibly poor service dampened our enthusiasm. We were seated and promptly given bread with nothing else. We waited 15 minutes to try and flag someone down to get some water and some wine. Long story short, our reservation was for 1.5 hours and we were down to the last 15 minutes and my husband had to literally get up to have someone take our entree order. The manager said it due to staffing, but that was nonsense as they had more staff than any other restaurant on the island. To top it all off, that same manager had the nerve to show up at our table at the 1.5 hour mark and tell us our time was up. I think they have high ratings due to their very good social media presence, but our service experience was just terrible - worst ever on any Greek island which made the fact that the food was decent irrelevant. I would recommend Marrone of Milos for lovely and attentive fine dining experience.

Edit, just reading the management's response which addresses that they were busy doesn't address the fact that they are A RESTAURANT that is supposed to SERVE FOOD within the 1.5 hour allotted timeframe. To give us a reservation where 15 minutes are remaining and we had yet to have our entree order taken and a manager tapping his watch that our time was almost up, is beyond unacceptable. Can they be so rude as to think we make reservations at a dining establishment to sit and then leave without eating???? In reading the rest of their poor reviews, they have no respect for their customers and they seem to think we are just LUCKY to be in their presence. Shame on Yialos and all your responses to all of your...

Great food but I was very unhappy with the 2 waiters I interacted with. I had made a reservation and the host, assuming the owner, was very nice and friendly. Got a table by the water even though there was plastic cover for the high winds.

When we were ready to order, our waitor said to give him 3 minutes which is completely fine. However, we felt very rushed. They were busy, understood, but he didn’t seem to be rushing others.

Either way, the food was very good. We ordered tzatziki + scallops in a pumpkin sauce as apps since the scallops were only 3 they told us. Both very delicious. We ordered the lamb and the mussels. Both again very delicious.

However, the night was ruined because of 2 main reasons with 2 waiters. We were waiting for 15 minutes to get our waitor’s attention to get the bill and he never came. He took new tables and we were ignored. So I decided to ask another waitor walking by instead. I simply said, can we have the check please? And he nodded. I started to say thank you since our waitor didn’t come by but he snapped at me.” YES! Yes, check! I know English miss.” VERY RUDE!! I am Greek, I could’ve asked in Greek but I forgot since English is my first language.

So when he brought the check back, I told him in Greek that I speak Greek. Our waitor didn’t come by. He just brushed me off and never apologized. Just because you have good food does NOT mean you can be rude to those coming out for a good night while on vacation. Next time I visit my family, I’ll make sure to eat at the other restaurants...

Gialos is by far the best choice for food in Milos. We visited on 8/8/2020. The four of us arrived a little after 3 pm without a reservation and had to wait to get a table but in the meantime we were seated comfortably on a bar-table and enjoyed our first choices from the menu with a bottle of superb white wine (Santorini Vassaltis 2018) and a dish of a super fresh assortment of oysters. The service from start to finish was impeccable even though the restaurant was packed. The restaurant is super clean, following all new rules and regulations about covid-19 and located beautifully by the sea. Don't miss the taramosalata, the grouper carpaccio, the shrimp ceviche, the shrimps with butter, soy and almira (local yummy greens), the braised octopus and (one of the surf and turf dishes) oysters with bacon. We had two more bottles of fantastic greek white wines. The wine list is great and very reasonably priced. If you don't know much about greek wines let them help you. Or ask for Christos, one of the owners! He is such an amazing professional! Every plate came timely, the portions were on the bigger side and we left three hours later dreaming of the moment we could come back. Our bill was 240 euros for four adults with a healthy appetite, out of which almost 100 euros were the 3 bottles of wine. I consider it a steal! Do...

The classic average restaurant for tourists. What was told us to be a very good restaurant (TripAdvisor docet), it turned to be an average restaurant (for the quality you can find on the island) but with price absolutely out of the market. We were shocked to pay 15e for a little cup or ceviche (local fish salad) which you can find for 1/3 of the price in the surrounding other restaurants. The service is quite pushy due to the amount of waiting clients and they have the tendency to bring plates while you're still eating the previous one. Don't go also without a reservation, or you'll have to wait around 20min. We also noticed that they had the bad habit of bringing you the bill already after the order letting you feel the pressure of "freeing the table". After asking local people, we aknowleged that this habit is to counteract the fiscal controls from the police, even though this happened to us only in this restaurant over the entire island. In the end I feel to tell you that there are other restaurants which worth to try.

A local recommended this restaurant and I am so glad he did! It will forever be a dinner I will never forget. We had the smoked gnocchi (which is what he specifically recommended) very delicious. I’m not even a huge smoked flavor person but I loved it. We got the meals to share but I could not share my seafood linguine very well it was too good! The pasta alone was unforgettable but of course the fresh seafood was delicious. I also tried the Yialos Spritz and loved that too!! I keep trying to like the aperol spritz and can’t but whatever they do to the yialos spritz is perfect 🤩 What I also loved about this restaurant was one of the owners is out there talking to people which adds to the charm of the restaurant. I don’t normally get desserts at restaurants but because everything was so good here we asked to look at the dessert menu. I was told to try the semifredo lemon pie masticha of Chios. The presentation was beautiful for a dessert dish and of course yummy. ❤️

Love the fact you can choose and weigh your own fish and views are great, however: 1. Got charged for bread we didn’t want or didn’t order (and it was also stale). Looked around at other tables and no one was eating their bread either 2. We asked for a wine recommendation and there may have been a language barrier as we asked for a dry wine and were given a sweet wine. 3. Will say the shrimp dish was delicious! And loved that we could choose our fish. Also delicious. Fish had a lot of bones as the server didn’t debone properly. 4. We had two servers come up to us to order at separate times and they hadn’t communicated to each other that we had ordered. Was confusing but I guess I’d rather that than no one come to us. Overall, great place and fantastic relaxing views just shouldn’t charge tourists for stale bread that you didn’t order and could do with more experienced staff in deboning the fish.
