Chose to stay here as our 'splurge' hotel of our Greece trip as the pictures look really good. Hotel has nice appearance upon arrival in the parking lot. Strange art in the lobby and by the pool seems to take away from the classy/sleek vibe of the hotel. We thought breakfast was included, but it was an additional 20 euro per person per day. Pool area and poolside bar look really nice. Drinks at hotel bar are no cheaper, if not more expensive than multiple restaurants in town, but are convenient. Our room was on the opposite side of the pool, so unfortunately looked into another property that was mostly garbage and very unkempt - not a great view. The pavement around our room was all cracked, and the pieces of gravel/pavement got in your sandals, and this area pooled water, so there were puddles outside the room in the morning after they were done cleaning. Upon entering our room, the concierge found the bathroom fan to not be working and making a very loud, awful noise. She said she would send maintenance by to fix this, but we never saw anyone, and it was never fixed, so we did not use the fan throughout our trip. The room was fine - looks like the pictures, but run down. Our shower drain did not drain well, so part way through showering, you would be standing in an inch or two of water. The closet doors didn't close fully, neither did the cabinet under the sink. There was a safe in the room, however, the button code didn't work on the one in our room so we just had to get the key from the concierge to utilize the safe. The remote on the air conditioner was only working off and on, so we got new batteries for it, but unfortunately it continued to be temperamental. The bed was comfortable! There was a portable android phone provided, that was super convenient. It gave you data and access to internet/maps to use around the island during your stay, and they allowed you to make free international calls with it. This was probably the best aspect of our stay here. Location was approximately 10 minute walk from town, so quite convenient, and it was steps away from a bus stop right on the corner, for easy access to beaches and towns. There is also a convenience store right on the corner across from the bus stop for water. Concierge was fine - seemed really nice and helpful upon check in. When we were checking out, she was less than helpful with the bus schedule, and said our guests don't use the bus, they use car service, so I don't know. Well... we were your guests, so this is probably something you should know. Overall, our stay was fine... clean, safe, budget worthy hotel. Not as glamorous as we were hoping based on the pictures. Definitely not worth what we paid... and we got a...
Read moreWould give 0 stars if we could. My family and I travel a lot and this is by far the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. Not sure how this hotel obtained its 5-star rating as it was more like a hostel in terms of cleanliness. Have never been to a hostel but I know they can’t be worse than this place. I overheard the manager offering someone free drinks at the bar if they left a good review so even their reviews are fake and obtained with bribes. Anyone who is well-travelled and has stayed at many luxury hotels around the world will know that this place is an absolute scam. I don’t even know where to start. We paid for 2 rooms with private pools. They were absolutely disgusting - dirty room with a lot of bugs, extremely dirty pools which were completely unusable (slimy all around and green), and there was so much mould on all the outdoor furniture. We ultimately could not stay in these rooms because of health and safety concerns. Despite a written agreement to compensate us, the staff and management did not assist us with a refund so we lost a lot of money even though we have thorough photos of everything and walked through the rooms with them. Have included photos in this review. The main areas of the hotel were also unkempt, and the location wasn’t good (very long uphill walk from main areas of Mykonos). We also had their food once and all of us got terrible food poisoning. The staff, especially the manager, were extremely rude and unhelpful. Honestly, they were abusive and the manager scammed us. They bullied and intimidated us, and were racist. No customer deserves to be treated the way we were, especially as we were respectful throughout our interaction with them and were politely asking for assistance. Please save your hard-earned money and do not support businesses like this. It was a horrible end to our Europe trip.
Addit in response to the “hotel”: you gave us no choice but to accept down-graded rooms. You bullied us into this and the only alternative was to lose our money. We also have in writing that you owe us a partial refund, which we never got despite many reminders. Big scam. We have videos and photos of the staff, particularly the manager, very clearly mistreating us. We felt extremely threatened and scared for our lives in a...
Read moreWe booked and payed a little fortune to stay 3 nights here in August 2018. This hotel is definitely not a 5 star hotel and it’s a shame to pay an amount as high as we have payed.
Rooms: NOISY!!! you will hear every bikes roading and use their Klaxon (see below). You will also hear your neighbor doing whatever you could imagine. Charming Bathroom and rest restroom were NOT CLEAN: see pics attached. Very shocking for a “5 star”. The representative proposed us an alternative room which were noisier (see below) so we refused. Safe : not attached nor sealed. So not “safe” at all Bed : ok. Be aware that it is a two mattress attached. Privacy: none! Some of the rooms including our are accessible to anyone. The window give view to the pool but anyone could see trough if you are not precaution and not close the shutter. Hence, the room can not be highlighted by natural light. Very disappointed.
Localisation: the hotel is at the cross center of the two main roads between Mykonos “Fabrikas” (eg: the Old port of Mykonos) and the main beaches of the island. It is VERY NOISY. Beware if you plan to stay and rest (wether rest during the night or during the day) you WILL NOT. Note that as private drivers and taxis are very expensive and as buses are very rare every vacationers move from to place with moto/bike/quads and riches guys of course use big noisy jeeps. As roads are dangerous every one use klaxons and of course you will hear them from the room. Beware if you plan to walk to the old town
Breakfast OK. But needs diversity Coffee: americano. If you want to have some expresso you will be charged an extra. Inappropriate for a “5 stars”! Cheese: some of them seems to be industrial orange juice : industrial
The only star that remains is to give to the personnel and the representatives. They are very kind and seems to try their best while repeating the appropriate langage “we understand that it may be noisy, but this is the price to pay”. “The bathroom is not so dirty, well... I have to admit but if you want we can ask to the maiden to clean again”. Etc.
Conclusion: Annoying, disturbing and very...
