A gorgeous, modern and well-situated hotel with amazing sea views that is a 5 minute walk from the beach and 10 minutes from the town centre.
We loved our stay at the Korali! From the moment we arrived - where we were given a personal guided tour of the hotel and our room by staff - to the moment we sadly left to catch our flight home, we felt so comfortable and were treated so well by everyone who worked there.
Despite our mid-October stay in their penultimate week before the hotel closed for the winter, rooms were spotless and clean, and the weather still hot, dry and sunny - sunscreen was definitely required! End-of-season also meant the hotel was less busy, and so there was always plenty of space in the restaurant and by the pool to sit and relax wherever and whenever we wanted - and more than enough staff taking care of everyone to make sure we would enjoy our stay.
We opted for a room with a sea view and a jacuzzi, and feel it was money well-spent! The view was incredible, and the heated jacuzzi the perfect way to settle in after our flight, and on one of the windier evenings we spent there. Room WiFi was excellent, as was the air conditioning, and it all felt very safe and secure. (The one slight issue we had with our room was being awoken at 1am by our neighbours using their shower, but fortunately this only happened once.)
Breakfast was very good - normal continental and hot food, but staff were more than willing to make us things like pancakes or eggs Benedict if asked. We also enjoyed the evening menu in their restaurant, which was some of the best food we've ever been served in a hotel. (D'Angelo in Mykonos Town was also exceptional)
There is a spa on-site, and we treated ourselves to a full body scrub and relaxing scalp massage - and this could have been the highlight of the trip! We came out feeling so clean and refreshed and re-energised, and once again the staff were lovely and made us feel like royalty.
If you're planning on staying here, we strongly recommend spending at least one day having an early 8am breakfast and heading into Mykonos Town before 9am when it's quieter and cleaner and emptier, before most of the shops open and all the other tourists flood in. It's beautifully picturesque and looks fantastic at both sunrise and sunset.
The quickest walk into town involves walking along a main road, but it is reasonably short and drivers are very used to avoiding pedestrians. Since the hotel is elevated, this walk is downhill on the way into town and uphill back, but not uncomfortably so. Alternatively you can hop over a short wall in front of the hotel and head down to the beach, and walk into town that way instead - this takes a little longer, but you'll be treated with some nicer views of the sea.
Thank you again to all the staff at the hotel - from the gate staff, to reception, cleaning, pool, dining, waiters and waitresses, and the pool DJ (yes, an actual live DJ!) - each and every one of you were helpful, polite and super-attentive, and made our stay so special. We wish you the best of luck when you re-open for the next...
Read moreFriends & I stayed here for our 50th birthday celebration. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but had some hiccups that can be improved upon. The facility overall is nice & beautiful. The check in process can be improved & made consistent amongst all guests. Me & my roommates’ process was a bit chaotic & left us not really knowing everything on the property & where things were located. Half of the group had a male person that checked them in & he showed them where things were within their room as well as gave them maps and showed them where things were located on the property. Sefi, who checked us in had a bit of an attitude & was impatient with us. She wasn’t nice at all until she was alerted of my displeasure with her on the last day of my trip. Then, she became “friendlier”. Upon check in, I requested a map of the property from her 3 times & never received one. She also didn’t give us a tour of our room (as my friends received) and we had to figure out how to locate & access the refrigerator & safe on our own. I also requested a reservation for the 7 of us at Naia for later that evening & she didn’t make the reservation as she told me she would. It was only when one of my friends stopped by the front office to ask a question about something else & then confirmed the time of our reservation while she was there found out that a reservation hadn’t been made for us. I also noticied a distinct difference in how she treated Caucasian guests versus how she treated us (African American guests). This needs to be addressed with her. On the other hand, Elena (who performed my spa treatment) & Andrias (server at the pool bar) were both exceptional throughout my stay. Elena had a great touch throughout my spa treatment & created a very pleasant experience for me. Andrias was very nice & accommodating every day when we ate there for lunch. Another major issue I had was the temperature of the pool. The pool was extremely cold & none of the guests sitting out most days wanted to get in it because of how cold it was. Why must your pool be so refrigerated cold? Pool time is one of the main attractions of a vacation and that part of my experience was ruined as I didn’t get any at the property in the main pool or the one in my upgraded room.
Overall. I would give my stay a 7 out of 10. It was a beautiful property but I expected so much more for the luxurious...
Read moreThe main issue we had is noises and cramped environment.
It’s three hotels in one area- positives you get to use the pools and dine at the other hotels but on a negative side, the area is very cramped. The pool at Korali is a good example where the dining and pool area is one and it feel extremely cramped especially when a beach umbrella is openned.
As for noise, It was cooling unit fans for room 614 which was constant and could be heard over the aircon and subsequently moved to 503 . A bigger room with a pool. Here the noise at 7am when the spa was cleaned out including noise of people coming back at 2am and walking to breakfast was an issue, we decided to stick with it as didn’t want to be changing rooms again. Walls are thin. Interior, spares with some carpets, paintings but generally minimalistic. Wardrobes with no doors! Fridge just next to where you lay your head!l-had to turn it off. Positives if complimentary desert wine and Turkish delight.
Other issue with noise- DJ’s at pool- both Korali and kyme which made it impossible to relax. Subsequent to the loud music, guest had to shout to each other over music making the ambience it very un-relaxing.
Side sea view room presents view of the hotel Complex - views of the Naia hotel with sea views in the distance. Best to get direct sea views.
Staff were robotic and less than warm. There was no connection or attempt to connect with guest. The only staff that was outstanding was Vana who managed the room change and chased feedback on the room changed.
Breakfast is in the Boas restaurant. First visit was not told about cooked / ordered Dishes available. Positive- pastries, good nut area and dried fruit area and cooked breakfast of Benedict. The pancakes on the other hand was poor.Fruits was ok, could be better as was the usual selection. Meats were rather poor. Champagne was a nice touch. Good views of the sea.
Did not enjoy our stay as much as we would have liked to due to the noise in general. This is not a hotel for everyone- if you like a quiet time away, this isn’t the right hotel, on the other hand if you like a party/ clubby vibe- this is...
