My family of 4 stayed at the hotel charissi for a week in our first visit to Greece.
While our room was only one room, it was of sufficient size and quality to sleep 4 people.
Many members of the family take a part in running the hotel and you will likely even meet some of the small grandchildren. The family and staff are all quite charming and helpful....they gave us great guidance on where to go and what to do and called cabs that provided reasonable pricing as well as a last minute pre arranged limo from the airport for 25€ (online services where more than double). Immediately prior to leaving my son discovered he left his phone at the restaurant. The owner called the restaurant then drove to pick it up for us.
The hotel is walkable to town with a more or less flat route of 1 km. The property is quiet and has good breakfast. .
There is a nearby bus stop (150 m) to take you to many of the beaches very and a grocery store across the street from that bus stop.
The one complaint I have is the wifi is not well covered. It is sufficient for checking personal email and social media but you will probably have issues streaming or if you need to rely on it for work - be prepared with a good...
Read moreThis was my favorite hotel during our six-stop visit to Greece. It felt a bit like staying at a bed and breakfast, with lots of personal attention from the family-based staff, who were always friendly, kind, and eager to help, for instance by sharing a book about the site at nearby Delos and helping us get a refund when our tour there was cancelled due to inclement weather. Our room was very comfortable, clean, and quiet. We had a nice private terrace to relax on after a day out. The breakfast (greek omelette, hard-boiled egg, croissant, bread, yogurt, cold cuts and cheese slices, juice and coffee) was simple but tasty. The WiFi, a persistent problem at other properties in Greece, was fast and reliable. It's a 15-minute walk (sidewalks are not a thing, unfortunately) into Mykonos town (where most dining options are found) or to the nearest beach, but taxis and public buses are available and affordable options; I found the charms of the property and the staff more than sufficient to overcome this small...
Read moreINCREDIBLE experience. Super cute place, very clean, convenient luggage elevator, awesome views of the surrounding white buildings from the balcony, as well as from the breakfast patio. Bus stop just down the hill. Supermarket across the street, with ATM. An easy 15-min walk into Mykonos town. The shower/bathtub was a little small, but the water got really nice and hot. Good AC in the room. Clean bedsheets/towels/slippers.
The owners: felt like we were staying with family. SO AUTHENTIC, so kind, so helpful. Always available to give recommendations, directions, or arrange taxis. Made breakfast for us in the mornings. And one night, we came home at 3:30am, and someone was sitting outside waiting for us to make sure we got home safely, and crossed us off the list of guests that still hadn't come home - felt safe like I was with my parents. Would 1000%...
