Positives: Incredible service. Olga helped us make bookings for dinners prior to our arrival and was present throughout to check on us at breakfast and provide great suggestions for our stay. Karina was also super helpful. Room service and breakfast staff were very attentive and made us feel very welcome and cared for. Great aesthetic/Relaxing vibe: The signature scent and the decor of the hotel make for a very restful stay. Lovely breakfast: Great spread at breakfast, loads of healthy options (fresh fruit, chia pudding, yogurt, nuts) which I really appreciated and having the option to have made to order coffee or additional A La Carte options was a treat. However, the made to order items felt average in quality - after trying the poached eggs and the potato omelette, we mostly stuck to the buffet.
Things to note: There is a road in front of the pool. Even though it is not very busy, you can hear the occasional car driving by. It might not be ideal for those looking for complete seclusion.
Need Improvement: Bathroom: I think these are mostly growing pains that should go with time, but it’s where the hotel loses points. The drains in the bathroom smelt very bad (the standard summer drain smell) and something needs to be done about this. The toilet also didn’t have a fan which isn’t ideal for ventilation. Hot tub: The hot tub was really unclean. The reception immediately sent someone over to clean it, and he was very quick and kind, but this should have been done prior to our arrival and every single day since if it’s an ongoing problem. We didn’t end up using the hot tub at all because of the grime and weren’t bothered to call someone to clean it again.
Overall, there is a long ways to go before it can be truly called a five star hotel. There were many moments where we felt like if we asked, the service would be available but this is precisely where great hotels differ from good hotels: you shouldn’t have to ask. For eg, when we arrived we parked our car in front of the hotel entrance, and we were told parking is free and we can park in the car park. This is when the hotel has the opportunity to take your keys from you and valet the car without you having to ask. A few weeks ago we stayed in a hotel in Provence, where the car was valeted for us every morning, with fresh water bottles for the day and the AC running. It’s little details like this that make you feel truly pampered.
Another example - we were given a bottle of Prosecco on our first day as a welcome gift but didn’t have it then. The bottle stayed in an empty ice bucket outside - I would expect for the house keeping staff to put it away into the fridge for example.
Little things need to be paid attention to as they have a huge impact on a stay - for example there was a killed mosquito on the wall in our bathroom before we arrived and it wasn’t cleaned for the entirety of our stay. Common hallways (due to Mykonos wind) easily fill with dust bugs and hair. These should be cleaned multiple times in a day. House keeping staff overall needs further training.
To conclude, this is a really great hotel for a pleasant stay with a lovely breakfast and cheerful service. It doesn’t feel super luxurious or over the top thoughtful and that’s what needs improving especially to capture a honeymooning/romantic...
Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel, and while it’s undeniably beautiful, the service and overall experience were incredibly disappointing—definitely not what you'd expect from a 5-star hotel.
First, the staff is clearly untrained and many barely speak English and lack basic knowledge about hotel operations. Communication was a constant struggle, and even simple requests like asking for an ashtray or a straw took multiple reminders and over 20 minutes wait. One of the receptionist, Julia, was particularly rude and dismissive. When I asked for the minibar to be emptied so I could use the fridge (as I don’t drink alcohol), she raised her eyebrows at me as if my request was being unreasonable.
Weirdly enough, the fridge stopped working as soon as it's been emptied so I was unable to cool my drinks. I had to speak to reception 3 times for someone to have a look at it and when they finally replaced the fridge it also stopped working after a few hours.
The shower head in my room was broken and leaking from the get-go, which made showering a hassle throughout my entire staying.
The dining experience was an absolute disaster. The breakfast options were extremely limited and low quality, far below the standard for a 5-star hotel. A la carte breakfast was underwhelming and it took 1 hour to arrive.
On my last two nights, I decided to have dinner at their restaurant and the the first night food was ok but very expensive for the portions that even for fine dining were absolutely tiny. The second night however, my starter was extremely salty and undercooked, while the main dish (fish of the day) was terrible - unseasoned, dry and cold so I had to send it back to the kitchen. Despite this, I was still charged full price of €70 for two inedible plates of food. The drinks were just as bad—a simple lemonade tasted like dish soap.
The overall pricing is ridiculous. The food and drinks are outrageously expensive for the poor quality and feels extortionate.
Also, when I initially enquired about upgrading my room, they said an upgrade was available 'for a very good price.” However, when I mentioned my Platinum membership with Hotels.com which entitles me to a free room upgrade when available, they suddenly claimed there were no upgrades available. This was after they had just confirmed a room was available for upgrade which felt deceptive.
To top off my unpleasant stay, one of the staff members entered my room without knocking on the last day, which was a violation of privacy and completely unacceptable.
Perhaps most concerning, after talking to some of the employees, I learned about the poor conditions in which they are housed by the hotel management. It’s shocking to hear such stories from a place that charges so much yet treats its staff so poorly.
In summary, while the hotel may be beautiful, it falls far short of the luxury experience it advertises. Untrained, rude staff, terrible food and drinks, outrageous prices, broken facilities, and poor treatment of employees make this a hotel I would never recommend. Save yourself the trouble and stay...
Read moreOur overall impression of this hotel was really positive but it does have some areas to work on.
We loved the friendliness of the staff and everyone was so willing to help. The rooms are great and there were nice little touches, like a bottle of Prosecco and some fruit. We all got little drinks by the pool from the spa randomly throughout the day. The breakfast was incredible - we had a full buffet as well as a la carte menu.
I would say the hotel need to improve on their communication - we had been given a late check out time of 1pm but we weren’t informed until we checked out at 11am. We also weren’t able to check in until almost 4pm (rather than 3pm and being told we could check in at 2pm) for some reason - this was a bit of a pain as we had been really unwell with a very windy ferry crossing and just wanted to shower and get changed! We also weren’t told about breakfast or how to connect to the WiFi and had to call reception a couple of times to get this information - not a big deal but just things they could work on providing up front. There were lots of marketing materials on the screens about a complimentary buffet until 1pm but again we weren’t told what that was/whether it applied to us.
I would also expect, at this price point, that you would have a complimentary taxi service to/from the port/airport. Most of the other premium hotels have this in Mykonos so it was a bit of a shame to pay €35 to be picked up from the port, which was a 3 minute drive away. That being said, both taxi services we booked through the hotel were very smooth.
We walked down to a little restaurant next to the beach for dinner, which was a hidden gem! It was really good and very reasonable. There is also a bus stop to the town nearby, which...
