Unfortunately, I do not think we will be returning to this hotel next summer. I want to start off my complimenting the staff at the Eden Suites. Both girls were incredibly helpful when we arrived earlier than anticipated. We were provided the opportunity to change and shower in an unoccupied, beautiful, suite until our room was prepared, transportation was arranged to our brunch reservation, and our luggage was brought to our room. If you are into going out, the location is great. In close proximity to Branco, Tropicana, and paradise beach.
As for our stay, it was not enjoyable and far from luxurious. If you are advertising luxury apartments and villas, then amenities/services should be just that. We stayed in the junior suite. I’m not sure if our suite was one to not yet be renovated, but it appears as so. It seems to have been the original office space/apartment bc the circuit breaker is exposed, along with the alarms to the building, another iPad looking thing, etc. Aside from the front door, there are no windows. The bathroom is very old, paint is peeling off the floor into the shower drain. There were old/used shampoo bottles left behind, it’s not decorated, and has a broken mirror. An old rusting, emergency kit is still hanging on the wall and only one light was working. Our clean towels were dirty and once notified, the cleaning services brought us new towels. Although our bed was made each day, you should note the sheets were not changed each day. In addition to the fact, that the garbage under the sink wasn’t disposed of each day either.
Mosquitoes were everywhere. I know this is not something the hotel can control. However, they can control the cleanliness of the rooms. Dead mosquitoes were all over the white walls, in the sink, the shower, the bed’s headboard, etc. The white walls had marks all over, it looks like no one has ever wiped them down. When checking out, I overheard another client complaining about the mosquitoes. The receptionist offered to put something in his room to help. If the staff are aware that mosquitoes are that big of an issue, then something should have been placed in all our rooms from the start.
Please note the room does not come with a safe as listed or a tv. There was a remote for the tv, but where the tv once was, was an empty wall. There is no full length mirror. Coffee, tea, mugs, etc. were left in the room for use, however there was no coffee maker or kettle. At the time of our stay, there was only one room key. We had to return the key to the receptionist in order for the room to be cleaned. On our second day, a copy of the key was made in order for the cleaning services to take place. Things such as this, should have done ahead of time.
Our suite came with a hot tub. We used it the first night and it was quite enjoyable. However, it was not cleaned once during the duration of our stay, which turned us off from using it.
Lastly, one of the services listed on their website was a free transport to/from the airport. Granted, the hotel did accommodate us, when asked to arrange this service my husband was asked where he saw “free transport to/from the airport” and was told that a conversation needed to be had with the manager prior to the arrangements being made.
I think there are just some kinks that need to be sorted out. Staff should be fully knowledgeable of the services/amenities offered. Read moreMy partner and I had stayed at Eden View Suites in Mykonos last August. While I understand that this complaint comes long after the incident occurred, I was advised recently to share these issues in the benefit of future guests from friends and family.
I had booked a £542 per night room at Eden View Suites for the dates of August 15th to 16th, as a special celebration for my partner's 40th birthday. However, upon our arrival in Mykonos, we were informed that our reservation had been changed 24 hours before we arrive due to maintenance works needed on the room we originally booked.
Not only did I have to chase for details of the new accommodation prior to arriving, we were relocated to a different hotel and given a room that overlooked a car park, which was a stark contrast to the luxurious experience we had anticipated. Additionally, the services provided during our stay were subpar, further adding to our disappointment.
One hugely frustrating aspect was the cab service we had paid for in advance. Despite booking a taxi to ensure we arrived at our hotel in time for our reservation at Scorpios. The taxi arrived 30 minutes late, causing us to miss our sunset booking and incur a charge of €100 (€50 PP)!
I also want to highlight, I had paid additional expenses during our stay, totalling over €100. (Balloons and beers on arrival). Which was never wavered considering the situation.
I attempted to communicate these issues to Ana FIVE TIMES with the hotel, but unfortunately, I received no response from her. Additionally, when I attempted to file a complaint through the Booking.com, I found that my booking had been swiftly canceled, preventing me from making an official complaint or receive compensation for the amount of stress caused on my partners 40th birthday. It was a day I really wanted to make special, however, Eden View Suites & Villa's created a day which was stressful and disappointing. Unfortunately, we will never be able to recover his special occasion nor the money wasted.
While I understand that issues may arise unexpectedly, the lack of communication and poor handling of the situation by the hotel staff only served to exacerbate the situation. I feel the need to bring these issues to everyones attention, with the hope that people will reconsider their stay at Eden.
