Not recommended – a huge disappointment and complete lack of responsibility from the property
We rented an apartment for 6 people in what is supposedly a 5-star hotel, expecting comfort and a relaxing vacation. Unfortunately, instead of rest, we were met with major disappointment and stress. After using the shower, all of us ended up with green hair – water analysis confirmed that the chlorine level was significantly above the norm, which is absolutely unacceptable, especially in a bathroom.
We reported the issue immediately. The staff assured us that “the problem had already been fixed.” Five of us heard this clearly – there is no doubt. However, in later email correspondence, the hotel falsely claimed that no one ever said anything about a fix, and instead stated that “everything was within the normal range” and that they had only tested the water. That is simply not true. The property is misleading guests and denying its own words.
Instead of enjoying our holidays, 5 girls had to seek professional help at hair salons – removing the green stains from our hair cost €200 per person. There was no apology and no offer of compensation. If I decided to take this to court – I would win easily. We suffered real financial and emotional losses.
Additionally, an older woman at the reception (most likely the manager or owner) was very rude and arrogant. In a 5-star hotel, one expects a certain level of courtesy and professionalism. On top of that – bottled water in the room cost €5 (!), there were power issues in some parts of the apartment, and the total cost for 3 nights was a staggering €2000.
I can understand chlorine in a swimming pool – but in the shower? How else were we supposed to wash ourselves? No one expected such high chlorine content in the tap water.
In summary: I absolutely do not recommend this place. The price does not match the quality, and there is a complete lack of care for the guest. Photos of the green hair are attached – let them serve as a warning to others.
P.S. Stars only for the waiters and bartenders. They were very nice...

You won't regret the explanation if you are checking this hotel. For a complete insight into this nightmare. Let me tell you how the bad quality of this place made a glass explode on my back causing lesions and bleeding. On the surface the hotel looks nice pretty fancy luxurious.
After you scratch the surface you find a disgusting place with very bad attention and just a good facade.
That's the main issue here, nothing nothing works on an unsafe way:
Sewers don't work so it smells rotten in the room all day. Windows don't work so you hear all the parties until 4am. Bathroom doors don't work so the water floods the room, or they explode in your back for improper installation causing severe bleeding and laceration and glass stuck in your body for several days. Once this happened the manager never said sorry she just kept saying "ah how did you do this??" . And later maid confirmed this had happened before
Hottubs don't work and they are wired in a shady way so you can't turn them on, causing electrical hazards and shocks while using them.
Locks don't work so hotel staff uses your private pool area as a walking area, "cause is faster like this" and you complain and nothing happens. The electric kettles dont automatically stop so they overheat and create a serious fire hazard. And no one cares to fix the several constant issues
The water from the faucet comes orange. The doors dont close properly so they smash in the wind. They give you the highest room with 10 flights of stairs and you have yo carry your bags.
Overall is a pretencious good looking hotel were you spend 300 euros a night expecting a resort treatment and you get the worst hotel experience...
Read moreThe location of Greco Philia is fantastic just a 10 minute walk from Elia Beach, which is beautiful and offers water sports and reasonable prices overall. The view from the hotel over the sea is absolutely stunning. However, because the hotel is on a hill, it gets extremely windy. At times it was quite uncomfortable to sit by the pool and even inside the room it was hard to sleep because of the strong wind noise. In terms of the room, I expected a higher standard. Several things didn’t work properly - for example, the cupboard handle fell off, the button for the sliding doors wasn’t working and overall the room felt a bit worn down. I booked a room with a jacuzzi and paid extra for it, but unfortunately the jacuzzi was broken and couldn’t be fixed during our stay. On the positive side, the hotel manager was absolutely amazing. She handled the situation perfectly and moved us to another hotel in a honeymoon suite with a working jacuzzi and much higher standard. It was our anniversary trip and thanks to her we were able to enjoy it the way we had hoped. We are very grateful for that. Breakfast was fine nothing extraordinary, but tasty. The cappuccinos though were excellent! Overall, I would give this hotel 4 stars. The location and views are beautiful, the service from the manager was outstanding, but the rooms themselves need some...
