Firstly Irene, our friendly host, was very helpful, knowledgeable and hardworking. As promised by a local contact, she really looked after us, no matter that we were rather late arriving. Secondly, the location of Irini Studios is perfect because it is half way between the town centre of Plomari and the beach at Agios Isidoros. Though we had our car, we were able to walk to either location when it suited us. Next, you get plenty of space at Irini Studios, inside and out - we had our own sea view balcony, and use of two adjoining terraces (one with a great sea view, the other overlooking the green hills behind). The garden location is beautiful and far away fron other guest houses it's exceptionally quiet. Plomari is Mytilini's best kept secret so far... you won't get a much better beach experience on the island (but if you have transport, there are many other great beaches in every direction). Friday is Greek Music Night at Platanos in Plomari, so you can get a bit of local culture as well as the sea, sun & sand. Irini Studios even has its own stretch of beach just over the road (plus a bit of industrial archaeology, if...
Read moreIrini Plomariou Apartments should be avoided! Although having booked an A-class (suite type, high range price) room, I got a small not luxurious B-class room and was asked to pay the price that was agreed in advance for the A-class room. I asked for a discount due to this cheating behavior but it was not accepted by Myrta, the owner.||Overall it was clean and tidy inside but at night and during early morning hours my sleep was disturbed by a group of cats growling and hissing, all belonging to the owner. Besides that, they were often peeinig outside my room and I didn't dare to hang my towels or enjoy the balcony view sitting on dirty seats. There was not enough space in the room to have my suitcase open and I was getting one thing at a time out of it, having it constantly closed. ||At the end of the conversation, while checking out, the owner insulted me by being rude while I payed the whole amount for the room I rented in advance. As conclusion this behavior and service managed to ruin my vacation at Plomari. I suggest you all look for another accommodation at the village. There are plenty of other hotels...
Read moreVery close to the beautiful Agia Isidoro beach and right accoss the street of Varvariani ouzo museum, located in a lush garden with only 5 rooms. It's a cozy place with a balcony and kitchen in every room. Irini gives you a warm welcome and a complimentary ouzo bottle awaits on your kitchen table. The kitchen has enough equippment to cook simple meals. She brings your breakfast on a tray every morning to your room if you chose BB. It is a quite indulgent breakfast. You need to drive or take a bus to downtown Plomari but you can also hang out in the neighborhood if you want to, there are cafes and restaurants in walking distance. The room is nice enough, very clean and well-maintained, you can see that she puts extra effort to make you feel at home. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a decent, cozy...
