Beautiful luxury hotel with everything you could hope for as a traveller. Me and my girlfriend had the deluxe room with a private jacuzzi and it was AMAZING. We would begin and end almost every day in our private bath where there was no insight, so we could feel truly by ourselves. ||Before this we would of course go to the amazing breakfast buffet with warm and cold varieties of every food you can think of. We both gained a couple of kilos each during this trip and the breakfast buffet is definitely partly to blame; everything was too good! The overnight oats and fruits were usually what we had last after filling up on omelette, scrambled eggs, spinach pies, greek yoghurt, feta cheese, sauted mushrooms, bacon and many other things. Every morning there was fresh orange juice, apple juice, water and cucumber water, and there are two coffee machines that make espresso, warm milk, macchiatto and hot water for tea. The staff was very attentive and quickly came to pick up empty plates and glasses without us having to gesture or say anything.||After the breakfast buffet we would either sink into our own pool again or go lay down in one of the many chairs around the infinity pool. First I would almost always order a fruity drink from the pool bar (open 10-22) which they then delivered to wherever we decided to lay down. The service is amazing and the drinks too, presentation is top notch and every drink came with a lot of ice and some neat decorations such as a celery stalk in the Bloody Mary, cucumber in the Sunrise, and pineapple leaf in the Pina Colada. The staff was very helpful and would always bring one straw per drink and offer to pour the water into our glasses when we had ordered some. We charged the drinks to our room tab which had to be paid the day before departure, we managed to spend around 300 euros so you can imagine we enjoyed it. The food from the pool bar was also to die for, and not only for the convenience of getting to eat it without hardly moving an inch in the perfect pool chair. The club sandwich was delicious, and the fish and chips among the best I've had. When drinks had been drunk and food eaten the hotel staff quickly appeared to wave their magic wands so the glasses and plates disappeared. Amazing.||There are many chairs to lay down in all around the hotel, and we didn't once have trouble getting two for ourselves.||We didn't have half pension so we never tried the dinner at the hotel, but the BBQ buffet that was held during the second evening was amazing with four types of meat, three sauces and a rich buffet of whichever things you could want to have with your pork chops or w/e you chose to have.||The luxury restaurant Litridi nextdoors was where we instead prefered to have most of our dinners, here the service too was amazing and almost every dish was presented in a luxurious way, for example the carpaccio starter (which we ordered four times in total) was rolled and garnished with mustard by our waiter while we watched. The rib-eye steak was grilled with a little torch along with some garlic that was rubbed against it, et cetera. All the food was amazing (and portion sizes VERY generous, for the first time in my adult life I had to refrain from clearing my plate just so I could have room for all three courses. The sushi was an unfortunate exception to this, but such is the case for sushi everywhere I suspect), but if you only have time to go once I recommend you eat what we had for our last night:||Starter: carpaccio (so light! it's like eating air, but so delicious with the mustard)|Main: grilled fish with vegetables (red snapper, delicious!)|Dessert: death by chocolate (just what it sounds like...)||The private beach is nice and secluded and provided a nice place for snorkeling, here we saw all kinds of funny and beautiful fish, and could sunbathe when we felt lite getting some sun a bit by ourselves.||The gym is high-end with many machines and free weights, there is a large dumbell selection and a barbell with power cage and a deadlift platform. Three large cable machines can be used for most excercises if free weights aren't your thing, and I used these for chest press, triceps push downs and shoulder presses. There are treadmills facing a window with amazing ocean view, and the glass is reflective on the outside so you can't see inside which means you can relax and not worry about sea gulls looking inside.||The hotel is very close to Plomari on one side, and a mini mart/beach on the other side. As others have said the roads feel a bit scary at first because there isn't much room for walking, but such seems to be the local culture here that we stopped paying it any mind after a short time. The drivers are very mindful of people walking and leave ample room. In any case you hardly have to walk at all to get to Plomari where there is amazing food and much to do. A very cozy town that (as our Apollo representative said and we can confirm) explodes at night at around 10 PM when the Lesvian people seem to spring up from hidden places in the ground (or the sea?) to eat and enjoy themselves. It really is a whole other place at night, something to be seen for sure.||We followed Apollo along for some trips to Krifti and Vatera beach, olive oil tasting and Agiasos + Molyvos. These were very good.||Kudos to our cleaner for being friendly and helpful, and for keeping our room clean every single day!||Also for last: there are many cats on this island, especially in the cities. At every restaurant there is at least one or two cats lazily laying around or trying to get their paws on some food. They are well behaved and never try to climb on your table or anything like that, at most we had one brush against a leg. We loved it and gave them food when we could. The hotel also has a little collection box for taking care of the local cats at the reception, we made sure to deposit the last of our coins there...
Read morePorto Plomari stands out as the most luxurious hotel in Lesvos, gracefully built within a restored olive-oil factory that blends traditional architecture with contemporary elegance. It enjoys a prime beachfront location on the crystal-clear Aegean Sea, just 1.5 km from Plomari’s center and mere steps from the Ouzo Museum. Amenities include an infinity pool, private beach, spa, fitness area, paddle-tennis court, and the fusion-style Litridi restaurant, known for its locally sourced, organic ingredients and Mediterranean flair.||Review: Perfect… almost! Porto Plomari is honestly one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The location is stunning, the atmosphere is calm, and the overall standard is top tier. The staff are generally very professional and helpful — with a few exceptions, which I’ll get back to shortly.||Our room was spacious, with large open windows that let in plenty of light, giving a real sense of airiness. It was spotless, modern, and well-maintained. The pool area, however, is the real showstopper. Wow! You’re welcomed into a large, open space featuring a generous infinity pool that seems to melt into the ocean view. Gentle background music plays, and a stylish poolside bar serves drinks beside comfortable sun loungers. Breakfast was good, with fresh and tasty options, though the selection could be a bit wider.||Now for some points of critique:||• Sunbed reservations: On arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and given a thorough introduction to the hotel — a really nice touch. They made it clear that reserving sunbeds before 10 a.m. was not allowed. Unfortunately, some guests still turned up at the crack of dawn every day to claim their spots, often taking four or five beds at a time. This left other guests, ourselves included, wandering around looking for available loungers with no luck. Disappointingly, the staff didn’t address it, despite promising they would, and failed to enforce their own policy. Either do something about it or remove the rule entirely — but please, stop the sunbed wars. It’s selfish and quite frankly extremely rude towards other guests.||• Inexperienced staff: A few of the younger team members seemed inexperienced and a little unsure, making communication a bit tricky at times.||• Food quality: Apart from breakfast, the food didn’t live up to expectations and felt overpriced. The gyro, for example, was drenched in oil with an odd fried-rice flavor. The pasta was overcooked and under-seasoned, the burger was dry, and the pizza lacked flavor. For a 5-star hotel, this was disappointing. If you’re after great Greek food, skip the hotel restaurant and head to Plomari’s town center — you’ll find excellent gyros and other delights for a third of the price.||• Wi-Fi: Each room having its own private network is a great idea, but in practice, the connection was patchy. We ended up relying on 4G quite a bit.||Overall experience:||Despite the few downsides, Porto Plomari offers a beautiful setting, superb pool area, and a relaxing atmosphere. With some small improvements — especially in food quality and staff training — it could easily be a flawless stay. The sunbed issue isn’t always something the staff can control, but a firmer hand on thier own policy would benefit the experience greatly for future guests. I would absolutely return, but with my expectations...
