Galaxy Hotel.... a real authentic gem on Naxos! We visited Naxos in the beginning of September and booked our accommodation at Galaxy Hotel, we couldn't make any better choice than that hotel! LOCATION: Privileged location at Agios Georgios beach, the closest one to town. Lovely sea and sunset views, 5' walking distance to the beach, 12' walking distance to town. It makes you feel relaxed with the sound of the sea and same time you are close to everything but far away from noise. This is the half part for successful holidays on an island! HOTEL (room & surroundings): Rooms are renovated and very spacious with tasteful decoration and amenities (sewing kit, vanity kit, shower gel & shampoo, slippers, fridge). Whichever room type you choose, you will definitely be satisfied with your option. I chose the superior sea view room with a balcony overlooking the beach and the sunset, however I noticed that even the garden view rooms would be a lovely choice too as the owner has created a well cared gardens with beautiful trees and flowers making you feel strongly the vibe of the island! As a result, at this hotel all guests can be happy with their accommodation… STAFF: The success of this hotel belongs definitely to its team and don’t really know with whom to start with! The general manager seems to be a person who really takes care of this hotel and make precious efforts to improve constantly its standards by renovations, training well the staff and his communicative character towards guests. Then, reception staff couldn’t ever be better as Eleni welcomes you with a warm smile and is always at your disposal for all your enquiries, Anna (if I remember well her name) tours you to the hotel areas and room in a professional manner, Panayiotis is a friendly receptionist offering you information for the island and its activities with good recommendations for dining and excursions. Breakfast and pool staff always do their best to assist guests, especially the boy at the pool bar. Maids do great job too keeping room clean and common areas. Even the gardener loves what he does and his work results are obvious! This team makes you feel like being at your home with 5* hotel service!!! BREAKFAST: A good start for your day with some changes daily for making it different. Breakfast includes eggs, sausages, jams, breads, cakes, pies, juices, yoghurt, fruit, coffee, cheese & ham options. You should definitely try it! To sum up, my experience on Naxos was memorable thanks to Galaxy Hotel and I am thinking of making it a lovely habit every year! Thank you Galaxy team for your...
Read moreWe booked a Quadruple Room with Pool View and Breakfast at Galaxy Hotel from 18–23 July 2025. However, upon arrival, we were informed that the room we had originally booked was unavailable.
Instead, we were moved for the first night to a Triple Executive Room at Naxos Resort (sister hotel of Galaxy). We were told this would be followed by an “upgrade” to a Family Executive Room for the remainder of our stay. While both rooms were newly renovated and nice, they were smaller and, based on our research, of lower value than what we had initially booked.
The hotel manager insisted it was an upgrade, claiming the Family Executive Room was their best option across both hotels, priced at €400 per night vs. the Quadruple Room we booked at €360. However, this contradicts pricing shown on the hotels’ official websites. We took screenshots on 20 July: the Family Executive Room was listed at €395, while the Quadruple Room we originally booked was listed at €484 per night. The room we booked clearly had a higher value than the one we stayed in.
It was also inconvenient to have to change rooms mid-stay—especially as we were travelling with a child and had to repack and unpack. The hotel did offer us lunch on the first day as compensation, which we appreciated. However, no further refund or adjustment was offered, despite the fact that we were placed in smaller, less expensive rooms for the entire stay.
After we asked multiple times to be moved back to the room we had booked, the manager said the Quadruple Room had a plumbing issue. We understand that unforeseen issues can happen—but we also believe guests should be treated fairly. If we ended up in a lower-value room, we should have at least been compensated for the difference.
To be fair, the hotel’s location, pool area, and breakfast buffet were good. But overall, we felt let down by how the situation was handled and disappointed that the hotel continued to present it as an upgrade when it clearly was not. A more honest and customer-focused approach would have...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed at Galaxy Hotel expecting a proper resort, but what we got was an overpriced disappointment. The rooms are tiny for what you pay, and the “peak season” excuse for inflated prices is laughable when the place is half empty.||The service is abysmal. Drinks are served with missing ingredients (a mojito without mint!) and when questioned, the staff simply say, “this is how we make it.” Poolside service barely exists — you have to rely on pure luck to see a waiter. The bartender in the morning, Nefeli, was rude, unhelpful, often missing, and hardly spoke English, making communication exhausting.||The food is a mixed bag: lunch is tolerable, dinner uninspired, and the half board menu is the worst I’ve ever seen. Breakfast is fine, but don’t expect much more. Shockingly, tea, coffee, and even water aren’t replenished daily, and the Wi-Fi is painfully slow. Pool hours are restrictive (10–7 only), and we were stunned to be charged €15 each just to sit on the beach for half an hour — something we were never warned about. When we raised this with the manager, the dismissive response was insulting.||What makes matters worse is the management itself. I personally witnessed the General Manager shouting at housekeeping, calling them “maids” in the most degrading way. Absolutely unacceptable. The pool is always packed because staff keep sunbeds “reserved” for certain guests, so we only managed to sit there once in an entire week.||To be fair, the rooms were kept clean, and some staff members — Leroy, Tyler, and both Konstantinos — were professional and kind. But they are the exception in a place that otherwise feels hollow, poorly run, and shockingly mismanaged.||Galaxy Hotel is not a resort, it’s a scam. The General Manager sets the tone: rude, dismissive, and exploitative. This hotel should be ashamed to call...
