Orion Suite & Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

Firstly, Donoussa has such a relaxed vibe, my5 th Greek island and I highly recommend it. Several nice restaurants, great Sandy beaches, 2 within walking distance of the apartments, and some nice hikes. Contact craftypaths on instagram if you want to do a super sunrise hike ending in breakfast and a swim in the north of the island .

Apartment #10 (there are several in the block)!: A simple generic apartment ideal for family. Maria and Vera have a number of apartments and rooms in the same block and on the island, so it would be ideal if you were several families you could all be nearby. But if you are solo they can suggest others if you prefer.

Advantages for a family : friendly family run, pick up from port , new washing machine , oven , big fridge , children can safely walk about 3-4 minutes to the family friendly beach/ minimart for icecreams etc as there is no vehicle traffic. The big balcony is private so you can leave the doors open at night for a nice breeze (and great for congregating and for drying laundry ! ).

Minimarts nearby and a great bakery too near the port. So you can utilise your kitchen and eat on the spacious balcony.

I’m sure Maria would help provide anything not in the apartment , she was very friendly when picking me up and dropping me back at the port. Responsive and was flexible with my dates which I really appreciated.

But I suggest you bring beach towels and some sort of shade ( umbrella etc ) for the beach .

Confirm cleaning schedule when you book. And just confirm the apt location as there are several run by the same family .

Wifi was spasmodic ( as of June ‘23) so not ideal when working from home - not unexpected on an island I suppose - but worth knowing . Perhaps ask if it’s been ungraded...

Decent studios. Unfortunately there wasn’t warm water nor signal/wifi! We stayed 4 days and couldn’t shower because the water was freezing cold. We told the owners about the issue, however they didn’t do anything about it. Also, note that Some apartments are at the basement of the property and there isn’t signal at all. Aside the above issues, the property is at a Great location, walking distance from Chora/port. The host was polite and came to pick us up...

Πεντακάθαρα και ευρύχωρα studios, σε εξαιρετική τοποθεσία. Είχαμε άνετο Parking και μέσα σε 3 λεπτά με τα πόδια φτάνεις μέσω ενός πλακόστρωτου παραδοσιακού κυκλαδίτικου στενού στην παραλία και στο κέντρο της Δονούσας. Η εικόνα από το google maps είναι άκρως παραπλανητική καθώς πρέπει να είναι αρκετά παλιά. Ούτε τόσο μακρυά είναι, ούτε καν υπάρχουν τα άδεια οικόπεδα. Υπάρχουν πολύ κοντά τόσο Mini market, όσο και μανάβικο και το ιατρείο του νησιού.

Τα δωμάτια ήταν πραγματικά πεντακάθαρα και οι πετσέτες μοσχομύριζαν. Έχει πλήρως εξοπλισμένη κουζίνα με ότι χρειαστείς σε περίπτωση που θέλεις να μαγειρέψεις. Το μπάνιο ήταν εξαιρετικά καθαρό και ευρύχωρο. Καινούργιο και αθόρυβο air condition, χώρος για να απλώσεις ρούχα. Καλό wifi.

Το μοναδικό μειονέκτημά ίσως τα σχετικά παλιά κρεβάτια αν και σε καμία περίπτωση δεν μπορεί να χαρακτηριστούν άβολα.

Τέλος, η οικοδέσποινα μας η κα Μαρία ήταν εξαιρετικά φιλόξενη, μας παρέλαβε από το λιμάνι, μας έδωσε συμβουλές για το νησί και ήταν διακριτικά παρούσα όποτε την χρειαστήκαμε. Μας πρόσφερε απλόχερα τη φιλοξενία της ακόμα και όταν είχαμε αφήσει το δωμάτιο, περιμένοντας το νυχτερινό πλοίο της επιστροφής όπου μας επέτρεψε να κάνουμε ντους και να αλλάξουμε στις εγκαταστάσεις των δωματίων.

Η συνολική μας εντύπωση είναι εξαιρετική και το studios Didima συστήνεται ανεπιφύλακτα. Θα χαρούμε να ξαναμείνουμε εκεί στην επιστροφή μας στην...
